I loved knowing he was out there watching me, and I loved every moment of the sex we had when we were pretending I didn’t know who he was, but things are even better now that we’re out of the shadows.
We spend most of our time talking when we’re together now, and Xave isn’t just incredibly smart; he’s also funny and sweet and an amazing listener, all while still being the rough and dangerous enforcer everyone on campus thinks he is.
It sucks that we can only spend time together when he sneaks into my room because he doesn’t want me going for my walks until we figure out if there’s another threat on campus, but we’ve found a way around that and still have our fun in the woods.
It started on Monday after he and his cousins saved me. I could feel him following me, and since I had a few hours to spare before my next class, I sent him a text that said “you want me? come and get me” when I was in a deserted part of campus and there was no risk of anyone seeing us.
He made good on my taunt, and since it was still daylight, we got to extend our chase and scare routine into the woods, where he had no trouble “catching” me and fucking me against a tree while whispering all sorts of filth in my ear.
That started a new routine where I either text him a taunt of some sort, or he sends me one that says “gotcha,” and I spend the next few hours eagerly waiting for him to start things and drag my ass into the woods so he can give me the dicking of a lifetime while our classmates go about their days completely unaware of what we’re doing.
I know a week isn’t a long time to be with someone properly; in fact, it’s almost no time at all, but things with Xave are different. We trauma-bonded on some level at the rave, and we’ve been playing these games for months now.
And I might not know everything about him, but he’s been incredibly open and has told me all about his life and his family, and he’s never held back when I’ve asked him questions.
He’s the first person I’ve ever felt a connection like this to, and like he said about his gut, mine is also telling me he’ssupposed to be in my life, and I’m not going to let my fears or anxiety get in the way of having what I want.
Maybe I’ll regret things later, but maybe I won’t. And that’s enough to make me jump into things with both feet.
He thinks I’m worth it, and deep down I know he is too.
“But you need to decide what’s best for you,” he continues. “If you want to play the gig, then we’ll do whatever we can to keep you safe.”
“I still can’t believe that your cousins were willing to come to my show to protect me before any of them even talked to me,” I say as I finish turning off my equipment.
“That’s what we do.” He looks me up and down as I stand up from my chair. “If you’re with me, you’re one of us. Oh, I have some gossip for you,” he says, a grin sliding over his full lips. “Jace finally came clean.”
“So hewasmessing around with someone?” I cross the room in a few long strides and climb right into his lap.
He wraps his arms around me and pulls me close as I straddle him.
Xave told me about his suspicions that something was going on with Jace, and after the big reveal that Jax had something going on with his mark a while ago, Xave said he thought Jace wasn’t just hooking up with someone, but that things were actually serious between him and whoever he was messing around with.
“Yup.” He tips his head up so I can give him a kiss. “And it’s been going on for months.”
“Guess he can’t say anything about you hiding shit when he was doing the same.”
“No, but he still will.” He runs his big hands up and down my back a few times. “I think you’re wearing too many clothes.”
“I think I am too,” I tell him with a grin and wiggle closer so my hard cock drags against his. “And what are you going to do about it?”
I’m expecting him to kiss me, but he just gives me a wicked grin and throws me onto the bed.
I’m not that much smaller than him, and his strength is a huge turn-on. I love when he manhandles me and literally tosses me around like I weigh nothing, and I’m already spreading my legs for him as he settles his hips between them and lies over me.
His kiss is hot and hard and demanding, and I tear at the buttons on his coat so I can get the damn thing off.
I’m just tossing it aside when there’s a loud knock at my door, and I’m so startled that I end up throwing the stupid thing right at the lamp on my bedside table.
“Damon?” a familiar voice calls from the other side of the door as my lamp wobbles precariously and the coat slides to the floor, taking my phone with it.
My phone hits the floor with a loudslap, and not even two seconds later, the lamp tips over and rolls right off my bedside table with an even loudercrash.
“Damon?” West shouts, his voice filled with panic, and before I can even think to call out that I’m okay, the doorknob twists and my door flies open.
“Oh shit!” West says, and the horror in his voice mirrors the terror that rips through me at getting caught.
“Sorry!” He quickly closes the door and turns his back on us. “I thought you fell or got hurt or something.” Still facing the wall, he lifts his hands like he’s being held up. “I’m not looking and I didn’t see anything!”
