She hooked her finger into my belt loop and bit the inside of her jaw.

“Mercedes, what?” She asked as she rubbed my dick through the material of my pants. Once more, it hardened in seconds.

“Tim, I don’t know why you’re playing hard to get. Your mouth is saying you don’t want it, but your dick is telling another story.”

“Why do you keep trying to fuck with me, Mercedes, and you know I’m married?” I asked as I caught her wrist.

Her head snapped back like I slapped her, “Timothy, I’m trying to fuck you. Not fuckwithyou. You and Breeze must have hidden a body together. I know you’re not leaving her. I respect that. Besides, I’m fresh out of an eight-year marriage. I’m not trying to be locked down. I just feel like we have unfinished business,” she snapped as she threw her arm on her hip.

I chuckled and sat back down. In a way, her response was exactly what I needed to hear. I knew firsthand that it could get tricky with women if feelings got involved. I need someone who understands that this would be sex only and a one-time thing. Not someone who expected a long-term situation and wanted to cause problems for my wife.

I looked up at her, trying to figure out how to word my next sentence without it sounding as bad as it did in my head.

“So, you just want to fuck me?” I asked for clarity.

“Tim, English is my first language. I know a little ASL too, if you need me to spell it out for you,” she shot back. I laughed.

“So, you’re telling me you’d be cool with one time only?”

“I can’t say that I might not want the dick again. I mean, if you give dick to anyone once and they aren’t the least bit interestedin doubling back, it wasn’t good. But what I can tell you is that I’m not the person you have to worry about causing problems in your marriage. This isn’t Heartbreak Hotel. I’m not going to be sitting outside on your doorstep singing love songs.” She chuckled.

“Aight, we’ll see,” I said.

Her eyebrows rose, she looked more shocked than appeased, “We’ll see? What about wifey?”

“She’s good, I’ll tell her,” I answered quickly without going into detail. She didn’t have to know the specifics; all she needed to know was that there was nothing that my wife would be left in the dark about. Shit could get messy if she were walking around thinking she had a secret she could hold over Breeze’s head.

“Well, in that case, I saw her on your website. Bring her fine ass too.” She laughed as she slid back onto the desk and crossed her legs.

“Nah, she ain’t going for that,” I admitted.

The conversation went from contracts to a place of its own. We talked about the arrangement, with me emphasizing the fact that it would be one night only. We discussed that she would need to get tested, provide me with her login details, and sign an NDA. She agreed. The meeting ended with the understanding that once we exchanged results, we would agree on a time to link up.

I stood to leave her office, “Appreciate you. When you do those contracts over, send me a copy,” I said as I pushed back from the chair.

“Tim, what about the partnership?” she asked, grabbing my hand.

“Is there another loan officer here?” I asked.

“No, why?”

“I’ll do the partnership because it’s good for business. I’d prefer you only deal with my sales team. But if you have to speakto my wife, I expect you to keep it professional.” I turned and walked toward the door without leaving any room for rebuttal.

I’m a businessman, and I did what makes sense. I couldn’t leave those kinds of numbers on the table, but I had been hoping to keep whoever I chose for the encounter and my wife separate.

I walked out of the office and glanced at my phone. I had a text from Breeze.

Wife: Baby, can you meet me at home? I just left the dealership because I think that Cass got me sick. I need a nap, some homemade soup, and a happy ending massage.

I looked down at the message, shook my head, and laughed out loud.

Me: Aight, baby, I’m coming.

I backed out of the parking space and got onto the highway, heading toward our home instead of Luxe. Even twenty years into our relationship and fourteen years into our marriage, it still sometimes felt like we were dating. I had my doubts about it, but Breeze was mine. I already knew that no matter what happened with these encounters, it wouldn’t change anything with our marriage.
