“Catch,” Viggo said, bunching up the t-shirt and tossing it to Bjorn. Bjorn caught it in one hand, staring at it for a second before his eyes widened dramatically and he pushed it up against his face.

Something in Viggo relaxed. He’d known that whoever appealed to him was sure to appeal to Bjorn as well, but having it confirmed was a relief. After all, the whole point of getting a human was to satisfy Bjorn’s wolf and get him back to normal. A human who only appealed to Viggo would be useless.

“Who?” Bjorn demanded after a solid five seconds of huffing the shirt with greedy abandon. He marched into the room, the bulge in his jeans solid evidence of his arousal, coming to an abrupt stop five feet away from where Viggo was sitting.

Bjorn’s wolf might despise the fact that his human self and Viggo were together, but he still accepted Viggo as his alpha. He sought Viggo out for all the normal physical comfort an alpha and his pack would engage in – hugging him and burrowing into him at night for warmth – but he ignored erections – his own and Viggo’s – like he didn’t even register what they were for.

Bjorn’s wolf had always been curiously uninterested in sex, which Viggo had used to think was part of what made them work so well together. Now he wondered if it was their downfall.

“Maybe someone for our pack?” Viggo suggested, wondering what Bjorn’s wolf would think of the idea.

Bjorn’s eyes widened, his breath quickening. He licked his lips and swallowed noisily. “Who?” he asked again.

Viggo shrugged, standing up and taking back the t-shirt. “A human,” he said, smirking when Bjorn’s massive mitt of a hand twitched like he was itching to grab it back. “Someone who can be pack.”

“Mine?” Bjorn asked, his rumbling baritone eager.

“And mine,” Viggo cautioned. He was willing to share his husband, but there was no way he was letting Bjorn and some random human have a relationship that didn’t involve him.

Bjorn gave him a look, like that was obvious.

“Share,” he agreed, his gaze fixed on the t-shirt in Viggo’s hand.

“I’m glad you agree.” Viggo was pleased that his plan was coming together. He tossed the shirt back to Bjorn, smirking when he brought it up to his face and nuzzled into the fabric.

Viggo almost reached for his phone to take a picture. The image of his brutish husband, unkempt, wild, and looking like Tarzan’s scary older brother, stroking a bunched-up t-shirt against his cheek like some kind of binky would be hilarious once the man was back to his old self.

That Bjorn might not revert back to his old self was a possibility Viggo refused to consider.

“Where?” Bjorn asked, lowering the t-shirt and looking around like a human might pop out from behind the couch or dining room table at any minute.

“You have to wait.” Viggo itched to cross the distance between them and put his hand on Bjorn’s arm, but he stopped himself at the last minute. With both of them hard and wanting, there was no telling how Bjorn would react. “There are things I need to arrange.”

Viggo rolled his eyes at Bjorn’s disgruntled expression. Bjorn’s mouth was pulled down, dimpled chin jutting out, his heavy brow wrinkled with impatient discontent. It was such aBjornexpression, and Viggo was thrilled to see it.

“Soon,” Viggo reassured him.

“Soon,” Bjorn repeated, like he’d extracted a promise. He lifted the shirt and smelled it again, his expression thoughtful. He turned, starting to walk away, and Viggo couldn’t help calling out.

“Wait a minute!”

Bjorn turned and watched him expectantly.

“Do you want to sit with me and watch some TV?” Viggo patted the seat next to him.

“Busy,” Bjorn said, looking back at the hall.

“You want to go back out there?” Viggo asked, wondering why he was surprised. Bjorn nodded.

“Need some backup?” Viggo would like to spend some time with his mate – even if it was just the half that couldn’t stand being mated to him.

“No need,” Bjorn said, giving his head a quick shake. He looked back at the hall, itching to leave.

“Fine, but don’t stay out all night again.” Viggo put his foot down.

Bjorn nodded, satisfied if not particularly happy, and disappeared down the hall with the speed of someone who had somewhere they needed to be.

Viggo was tempted to follow, but he knew that Bjorn would only take it as a rebuke – a sign that he couldn’t fulfill his duties as Viggo’s second without supervision – and that was the last thing he wanted.
