“Chelsie should be with Jin now,” Brody said as he looked at Chasen. Their matching chocolate eyes met, and he nodded in understanding. Both of their mates were pregnant and carrying their future. Lita and Asher began talking with the other kings, and Brody took this moment to walk up to Chasen and hug him, whispering to him, “If something happens to me … take care of them for me.” He had died once. This was a real reality for him. And he was worried about leaving Chelsie and their future child.

“I will, Brody. And you do the same for me,” Chasen said in a whisper only Brody could hear. The two brothers were both in agreement. And they were both bound by their duties. They were the guardians of the fairy prince and princess. They would fight to protect them and secure the future for the fairies.

Of course, their quiet whispers couldn’t be missed by the deity’s ears. Levi slowly made his way over to them, while Reiya poked fun at Weston some more. He looked at Brody and Chasen with a smile on his face.

“You two are going to make it through this. You know how sad my fairy would be if you didn’t? I already saw her like that once. I won’t have her going through something like that again.” Levi winked at the two guys. “No Chain family members are dying on my watch.”

“You just worry about keeping yourself alive. We won’t have another fairy princess without you, right?” Brody winked and Levi laughed quietly.

“Unless there’s already one in there cooking,” Chasen said with a wink.

“Ha, if that was the case, Levi would have locked her up!” Brody chuckled.

“She’s lucky I’m not locking her up as it is,” Levi said with an angry scowl.

Reiya giggled and slid her arms around Lee’s waist. She tilted her head to see around him, beaming. “He knows better than to lock me up, don’t you, my Lee?”

“Doesn’t mean I haven’t thought about it.”

“That’s bedroom talk,” Reiya said in a sultry tone.

Lee chuckled, grabbing onto her wrist and pulling her around to his chest. “I’m letting you know this. You are my number one priority. Over everything. Let the world burn down, but I will always save you first. If I have to choose between the world or you, it’s you, so don’t put yourself in a lethal situation.”

“Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine. You just worry about destroying Mephisto.”

“Yeah, don’t worry about Reiya. Besides, I’ll be by her side the whole time.” Xander slapped Levi’s shoulder as he walked in front of him. “Reiya and I are going to put our awesome Gemini powers to the test. Maybe it’ll be like getting the star off of Mario or something equally cool.”

“Are you comparing our powers to a video game?” Reiya giggled and Xander beamed widely at her.

“If you haven’t noticed, princess, our lives are like a real-life video game.” Xander chuckled. “I mean, Brody even got a continue after his game over!”

The others chuckled and nodded their heads. Their lives were like a video game. Except to their knowledge, there wasn’t a star that made them invincible.

Reiya looked up and noticed her mother’s green eyes staring at her. She smiled at Lee. “I’ll be right back.” She headed toward her mother, who probably wanted to give her one last pep talk while they still had time.

CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOUR

As Reiya walked to her mother’s side, Lita motioned for Freja to join them as well. Freja patted Hunter’s arm and moved closer to Reiya and Lita, curiously.

“Walk with me,” Lita said gently. The two girls smiled and nodded, glancing at one another as they followed behind the blonde-haired beauty. Looks were deceiving. Lita still looked just as young and beautiful as she did when she first met Asher. A regular human would mistake her for a young girl, not realizing she was an intelligent leader, warrior, mother, and soon-to-be grandmother.

As they got farther away from the group, Reiya noticed another woman coming out from the pine trees. “Grandma?” Reiya said with a confused smile. She rushed up and wrapped her arms around her. She hadn’t seen her grandma Alice in quite some time.

“Reiya, look at you! You look stunning.” Alice then raised her eyes to meet with Freja’s. “And you are Hunter’s beautiful mate, Freja. I’ve seen you before, in my visions. Though I think you’re more stunning in person.”

“Thank you,” Freja said shyly. “You’ve had visions of me?”

“Yes, I have. Several, in fact. But I don’t know which future we’ll get,” Alice said with a frown. “The goddess and priestess can’t see a clear future, either.” She then looked up at Lita. “Are we far enough away? You know what … I want to be safe about this.”

Alice raised her hand, and a green, transparent light engulfed them. “There. Now no one can hear what’s going on here.”

“Is this secrecy completely necessary?” Reiya giggled, but the smile quickly disappeared as she saw her mother and grandmother's serious faces.

Lita walked up to Reiya and reached toward her neck. Her hand moved downward until she felt what she was looking for. “It’s here …” Lita said with a frown. She then looked back at Reiya in anger. “Dammit, Reiya. What the hell are you thinking?”

“Mom … I have to. I can’t … Wait, how did you know? Did you have … what happened in those premonitions?” Reiya asked, wide-eyed.

“Okay, what am I missing?” Freja looked at Reiya and saw her worried eyes, so she edged closer to her. Even though they were her family, she still felt protective over her.
