"I guess we should get back," he said, snapping me out of it as he broke away and started walking again.

"Yeah, we should save it for tomorrow."

"We should save what?" he asked, glancing at me. "What do you mean?" he urged.

"Nothing. I was just saying…" I trailed off, feeling nervous and on the spot.

"Did you think I was about to kiss you?"

"No," I said, maybe a little too quickly.

"Then what were you saying we should save till tomorrow?" he asked.

"Fine, I did think you were going to kiss me," I said. "You're relentless."

"If I were relentless, I would have kissed you just now."

"I wasn't talking about that," I said. "And I don't care if you kiss me."

There was not even a second's hesitation. There was no hesitation at all. I said those words, "I don't care if you kiss me," and within a second, Sam turned and put his mouth on mine. He did not need me to say it twice. His mouth was there, touching mine, before I knew what was happening. It was so sudden that by the time I realized what was going on, he moved, and his lips were softening, and the kiss was changing.

My lips softened to match his, and when he went to pull gently away, I leaned toward him, kissing him again. This was some kind of permission for him because he came back to me, his grasp more confident this time. His hands came to the side of my face, holding me in place as he leaned me against a nearby tree. He kissed my mouth several times, all slow, tender but firm kisses, one right after another. His mouth was like paradise—it felt like home. His lips were slightly open, and I could feel thehint of wetness there. It was warm, and my whole body turned warm to match it. Sam kissed me gently, what must have been eight or ten times, before he finally pulled back.

"Was that what you were talking about?" he asked. Taking a step back.

"I don't even know what I was saying. Was that rehearsing?"

"Yeah, of course it was rehearsing," he said. "For tomorrow."

He move to start walking again, and I followed him, going slowly along the edge of the woods.

"Okay, good, that's good. I'm glad we rehearsed. That felt good."

"It felt good?"

"I mean, for the role. I feel confident that it's going to go well tomorrow."

"Ohh, it felt good, as in it's going to go well tomorrow. I thought you meant good, as in you wanted it to happen again."

We laughed. He was joking, but I really did want it to happen again. And again and again. Sam had kissed me more than a few times just now, but I was greedy for more. I wanted him to do it twenty more times. I just played it off and continued to walk next to him, heading back to the trailers.

Chapter 12

Sam

Sam had kissed Ty Banks last night, and it was off-camera. She wanted it, and he hadn't been able to stop himself. He didn't regret it. He wanted to save it for the scene, but they went walking in the woods, and it was just too much to resist. He had to do it. And it was as wonderful as he thought it would be. He loved the feel and the taste of her mouth. Her lips felt just like he imagined they would. Trinity Banks. He caught himself daydreaming about this woman and having feelings for her. He wondered if she felt the same way about him. He hoped she did.

Sam wasn't normally the type have his thoughts so interrupted by a woman. But Ty was turning out to be a thought interrupter. It was now the following day, and he was still thinking about her. He had to get her out of his mind because he needed to be in the mindset of sharing a first kiss with her on camera.

That was about to happen.

He was on his way to meet everyone now.

Today, they would film the scene.

Sam dressed in costume and walked over to the building. He breathed in the perfect June air, feeling like this was about to be a great experience. He was feeling vintage. There wasn't a phoneor camera in sight at the moment, and his surroundings were all timeless. Sam felt nostalgic on this ranch quite a bit, but this afternoon, on the way to film that scene, he was especially warm and reflective. He liked Ty, and he was in a great mood at the thought of working with her today. He was going to ignore the cameras and be there, right in the moment, with her.

Sam loved acting, but he had seldom, if ever, been this excited to perform a scene. He would have other scenes with Ty, but this one was special, and he could not help but be in a good mood about it. He felt as if he was walking on clouds as he made his way to the new building.
