“I’ma call you right back.” I hung up on Mixie. I was gonna hear about that shit later. Fuck, it wasn’t going to be the last time I’d hear Mixie’s mouth about some shit.

Speed walking back to my basement then typing in the code to unlock the door, I cracked the door, and I could hear Juniper screaming at the top of her lungs.

“I’m right here. No need to yell,” I said once the door was all the way open.

Juniper whipped around furiously, storming towards me with a look that would kill in her eyes. “Nigga, have you lost your damn mind? TAKE ME THE FUCK HOME NOW!” she screamed as she began attacking me, initially catching me off guard with her hits.

I stumbled back then regained my composure. Dodging one of her hits, I was able to grab her wrist. Then the other when she tried to swing at me. “Calm yo’ little fat ass down. I been extra nice to yo’ ass, but it ain’t shit to handcuff yo’ ass.”

“Fat? Boy, bye! The only thing fat on me is my ass, and you can kiss it. Talking about you been nice to me. Nigga, youfucking drugged me and kidnaped me. That’s what you call nice?”

“Shit, I coulda choked yo’ ass out and took you to The mutha fuckin’ Red Room. Hell yeah, I been nice to yo’ humpty dumpty ass. Too fuckin’ nice to you.” I checked her while raising her hands above her head. I liked watching her squirm trying to get loose.

“Nigga, fuck you. You Wiz Khalifa-reject-wanna-be ass.” I ain’t gon’ lie, a nigga busted out laughing when I heard Juniper say that. It wasn’t the first time I’d been compared to the nigga. I just thought it was funny hearing her call me the reject.

“Talk yo’ shit, Juniper. That shit only makes me fuck with you more.”

“Well, let me shut up ‘cause the last thing I want is for you to like me.” Juniper tried to look down quickly, but I saw that expression in her eyes that said she was lying her ass off.

“Yeah, shut yo lyin’ ass up. You want a nigga to like you. It's cool, because I already do. But check this out. We in a fucked up situation right now. We can’t really explore our options with each other until we get this shit settled with ya pops running me my money. For the time being, you gon’ stay here until we can find the nigga and he give us our money. I’ma be a gracious host and make sure you have all the shit you need while you here. As long as you ain’t on no bullshit. Don’t take my kindness as a weakness. I’ll tie yo’ ass up real fast. You got me?”

Instead of responding to my question, she asked one of her own. “What if my daddy don’t pay you back?” Juniper had a look of fear in her eyes that made my heart speed up. I didn’t care for her to feel those types of emotions.

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.” I didn’t have the heart to tell her she wouldn’t see her next birthday.

“I can’t miss work.”

“Consider it missed, boo-boo,” I snickered, and she rolled her eyes at me.

“Can you let my arms go?”

“Are you going to keep yo’ hands to yourself?”

“Mm-hmm,” she replied through tight lips.

Letting her arms go, Juniper gave me another death stare before storming over to the queen-sized bed, plopping down on it.

“How much do my daddy owe you? I got like six or seven thousand saved up. I can use some of that to pay you back.”

“If only that’s what yo daddy owed me, you wouldn’t be here. That little money won’t put a dent in what he owes.” I smirked at the flustered expression on Juniper's face.

“This is some bullshit,” she groaned, then cut her eyes at me. “How is your girlfriend going to feel about you having a female in y’alls house?”

“She might try to fuck you up. I’ma be straight though,” I said just to fuck with her, and surprisingly, Juniper didn’t look the least bit scared.

“I know you've seen my parents. Don’t let this cute face fool you. These hands can be friendly when needed,” Juniper confidently replied to me.

“I hear you, big dog,” I teased. “Lucky for you, this ain’t our crib. We stay in the city.”

“Sooo… I’m supposed to stay locked up in this room all day while you out miles away? That don’t work for me.”

“Until you prove I can trust you, hell yeah yo’ ass stayin’ in this room when I’m not here. While I’m here, I might let you go out in the basement.”

“Gee, thanks. I feel so special,” she sarcastically replied.

“As you should. I ordered some food. After we eat, I’ma be out for the night.”

“I need clothes and stuff to wash my ass with.” Juniper snaked her neck from side to side.
