“That’s not what I’m saying. I just don’t want to see you hurt.”
“Then fix it!” she screamed, looking possessed.
“Ion know how.” I really didn’t know what she wanted a nigga to do. I might have been mad at Juniper, but cutting her off never ran across my mind.
“You do, you just don’t want to do what I need you to do,” Mixie sadly said.
“If a nigga ain’t doin’ or givin’ you what you need, leave me. Ion plan on not fuckin’ with Juniper. I don’t want you suffering ‘cause a nigga on some selfish shit.” I was being honest with Mixie. I didn’t want her to leave a nigga, but I wouldn’t stop her. I would rather see her happy with someone else.
“I wish I would have before this,” she sarcastically said, throwing something at me. “Congrats, daddy-to-be.”
Looking down, I saw a pregnancy test in front of me. Picking it up, I turned it over and saw the two pink lines.Damn.
“When did you find out?” I asked, getting pissed thinking about her drinking at my dinner.
“A week ago. I had planned to tell you at our dinner, but you ruined that,” she smartly said.
“But you was drinkin’ knowin’ you carrying a nigga’s seed?” I asked, ready to cuss her ass out.
“I can have a glass of red wine.” She rolled her eyes at me, plopping down on the bed.
“Can you? How far along are you?”
“I can.” Mixie smacked her lips dramatically. “I’ll be four months next week, and I got another doctor's appointment next week too. I hope you're happy.”
“I am. I’ma be there, and we gon’ figure out how to make this situation work.”
She smacked her lips faking like she was annoyed. “You might as well say we a fucking throuple. I don’t care for it, but I don’t have a choice. I gotta deal with you being with Juniper.”
“You don’t gotta deal with shit you don’t want to. I’ma always make sure you and my seed straight.”
“Why you keep tryna get rid of me? Damn, act like you love me,” Mixie angrily said.
“I ain’t tryna do shit. Just makin’ sure you good with everything.”
“As long as you make us…” She rubbed her flat belly. “...a priority. I want you to spend more time with me too. I miss you,” Mixie cooed, smiling at me softly.
“I got you, baby mama.” I winked at her.
“You about to chill with us for a little?” I could see now Mixie was about to milk her being pregnant.
“I can,” I said, kicking my shoes off then walking over to Mixie, kissing her lips.
I had no clue how this shit was finna play out, but whatever happened, I was finna be somebody’s daddy.

11 P.M. That Night
Inhaling then exhaling the blunt I was smoking, I sat on my couch in the living room in complete darkness. Mixie’s ass had fallen asleep a while ago. We kicked it, something we hadn’t done in a long time. Without the audience, I was able to enjoy my time with Mixie. When it was just us, she was a whole different broad. She was chill and easy to get along with. I got to see the bitch I met all those years ago. Seeing her smiling and glowing when she talked about the baby really helped me see the real Mixie again. A nigga didn’t even realize how much the first miscarriage fucked with her mental until she broke that shit down to me. When Mixie first told me she was carrying my seed, the first thing that came to mind was Juniper. I ain’t gon’ lie, I fet guilty as fuck because Juniper shouldn’t have even have came to mind, but she did. I wasn’t prepared to deal with the blow out with her. We already weren’t on good terms, this shit was only gonna make shit worse. I had to force myself to not think about Juniper and focus on Mixie and my seed. A nigga was happy as fuck though. Kids weren’t something I thought about on the daily, but I did want them at some point. Knowing Mixie was carrying my seed made my night. I prayed this shit went better than the last time, though. I ain’t think I had it in me to go through getting my hopes up. I was gonna be optimistic about the shit.
“Why do you keep calling me?” Frankee groaned into the phone.
“Is it a problem that I call my sister?”
“Yes, nigga, it is when we both know you ain’t calling’ cause you wanna check on me.”
“Mannn, you been actin’ hella funny since you started kickin’ it with Juniper.” I called Frankee’s ass out. She was my mutha fuckin’ sister, not Juniper’s big headed ass. Her loyalty shoulda been with me.
