Apparently, we unlocked a new kink after the first time I came from his words about putting a baby inside me. It doesn’t just get me feral though, it turns him on too. Any chance he gets, he uses those words to make me come and I’m not going to lie, I like it a fuck ton.
We aren’t even close to being at the baby stage of our relationship, but we agreed that it’s okay to have fun teasing about it in the bedroom.
His movements slow and so does the kiss. His tongue sweeps into my mouth one last time before pulling away as his cock softens inside me. Still holding my throat, he says, “I love you.”
I give him a broad smile. “I love you too.”
“We should get ready.” He pecks my lips one last time and then gently lifts me off of his thighs.
We quickly shower, and I forgo washing my hair, so we aren’t late in meeting my dad and Lucas’s parents at Paddy’s for an early dinner. I decide to dress in a flowy black boho skirt and a light pink oversized sweater that has dreamy lantern sleeves. My platform pink checkered Vans round out my outfit and I finger-brush my natural waves. Since I’ve been able to afford more things, my wardrobe has gotten an upgrade in the last few months, and I feel like a better version of myself. More like the person I was before my mom got sick.
My photography business has been thriving and I’ve been booked solid for months now. It’s given me the financial freedom that I need while also giving me the flexibility to make my own schedule. Penny was all too happy to get rid of me as an employee, but I fill in every once in a while when they need help.
Lucas quit his job like he said he would and ended up buying the two-bedroom house he was staying at during his time undercover. This time though, it’s filled with all sorts of personal memorabilia to make it feel like an actual home. I ended up moving in with him a month ago because almost all my things had made it into the house anyway. Plus, Lucas wouldn’t take no for an answer after asking incessantly since just after Thanksgiving. I didn’t want to rush things but that’s not our style. People might call us crazy for how quickly our relationshiphas progressed but it’s our crazy, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Lucas recently took a job as a security consultant for a company that provides risk management assessment and protection for high-end clients. He still gets to use his police force and undercover skills and he absolutely loves the job so far.
Lucas comes into the bathroom, wearing a black button-down shirt and dark washed jeans, just as I’m putting a layer of gloss on my lips. His hair is effortlessly messy as it curls right at his ears, and his blue eyes are shining brighter than ever.
Fuck he’s hot.
“You look beautiful,” he says as he comes to stand behind me in front of the mirror. He bends down and plants a kiss just below my ear that has goosebumps rising on my neck.
“As enticing as round two sounds, we’ll miss dinner if we let it happen.” I turn in his arms and lean up to brush my lips over his.
He growls into my mouth, “Don’t tempt me with a good time.” And squeezes my hips.
I laugh because we could seriously go all day and night if we wanted. “Let’s go, Casanova. I’m thirsty and I’m starving.”
“I could feed you my cock. It has a little bit of cream, so you won’t get dehydrated either.” He smirks at me.
I playfully slap his chest and smile at him while shaking my head. He grabs me and brings me in for one more kiss before we break away and head into town.

After that fateful night in El Centro, the next few weeks were full of more interviews with the police, and a ton of paperwork for Lucas. We finally found out the story behind Emmett’s involvement with José, and Monica and Richard’s involvement in the whole thing too.
Turns out, Emmett was Jose’s biggest client. Meaning that Emmett was laundering huge amounts of drug money through the company that José couldn’t do through the small businesses he was using. Emmett swears up and down that José blackmailed him into the business arrangement, but he had a handful of offshore accounts that were loaded with his cut of the profits. Once the police told him they knew of these accounts, Emmett sang like a bird and rolled on not only José, but every person that was in the photos Jordan took of him.
We also found out that José was, in fact, a cartel member, whose real name is Gabriel Emmanuel Cardoza. He crossed the border with a new identity a few years back which is why he was a ghost for the first thirty-something years of his life according to the United States of America. It was found that there were about a dozen businesses that José screwed over and used as fronts for laundering drug money. The warehouse in El Centro was also another one of his businesses where he re-sold stolen goods for quick cash for the cartel. It didn’t bode well for him in the end, and Conner’s accounting records plus Jordan’s pictures, pretty much sealed both men’s fate. It’s safe to say, they’ll be going away for a long time.
Monica and Richard were picked up on kidnapping charges a few days after the warehouse incident. It turns out itwaspure coincidence that they were there to kidnap me. The two had been working for the cartel as low-level members to steal high-end items for resale. The kidnapping gig was a way for them to make more money and prove their worth. The real kicker is, they were using websites, like the one I advertised on, to steal from innocent people just for the thrill of it. In return, they would sometimes get those people to have sex with them in order for them to not steal their shit.
Fortunately, the last time I’ll be seeing them is during their trial when I testify against them.
The dinner with my dad and Lucas’s parents, Eva and Antonio, who are in town for the week visiting, goes smoothly, and we decide to walk down to the beach to watch the sunset afterward.
We went to Sedona for Christmas to see Lucas’s parents and they instantly welcomed me and my dad into their family. They told us since Lucas was done with undercover work, they would come to visit us as much as they could now.
My dad and Lucas have also become fast friends over the last few months. Lucas made it a standing date for him to come to the house every Saturday night for dinner and it helped all three of us get closer.
My dad and I are, dare I say, back to normal. Back to the way things were before mom got sick. There have been many tears cried but nothing we haven’t been able to talk through. We ended up spreading my mom’s ashes out in the water on her favorite beach during the sunset one night. It was therapeutic, to say the least, and I think it helped us heal in ways we couldn’t while we were under Emmett’s thumb.
“Oh crap, I forgot my wallet at the restaurant,” my dad says as we near the boardwalk.
“We can go back and get it,” I tell him.
“We’ll go with him,” Eva chimes in, “you guys head down to the water. We’ll be right back.”
