Noah rolled his eyes and huffed. “What do you wanna talk about?”

“Tell me what the fuck’s gotten into you. You were joking two hours ago, and now you’re all weird and moody.” He waved his hand, gesturing to Noah’s entire body. “It’s making me want to punch you in the face.”

Noah looked into those ice-blue eyes while trying to put all the words together. The rattle of the train was the only sound around them, other than the girl a few rows away giggling. But it was all muffled and distant, as if they were in a bubble away from everything. That was when he realized his legs were between Kaj’s, and suddenly all the bravado from before dissipated.

He couldn’t say it. He didn’t want to admit out loud he wanted more. If he did, he would lose Kaj forever, and he wasn’t ready for that.

Resting his elbows on his knees, he let his head hang low and sighed. “Nothing. I’m just tired.”

“Bullshit,” Kaj barked, keeping his tone low as he mirrored Noah’s position. “I know you.”

“Do you?”

“You haven’t changed that much.”

“I have.” Noah raised his head and looked Kaj in the eye, offended. Is he calling me childish again?

“In some aspects, you’ve definitely changed. In others, you’re still the same. Plus, you’re easy to read.”

“And you’re gonna tell me now all the things you’ve noticed about me, no?” Noah said sardonically.

“I could list you a few, yes. Like, based on the tension of your body and the way you kept touching your left eyebrow, I knew you were uncomfortable when that guy with the septum ring was flirting with you.”

“You’ve learned to read some of my nervous tics. So what?”

“I also know that your nape is a highly erotic zone.”

“Isn’t it for everyone?”

“Not like it is for you. The way you respond to the slightest touch in that area, or your neck in general...” Kaj bit his bottom lip, looking at him with liquid fire in his eyes as he leaned back in his seat and spread his legs farther apart.

Noah’s gaze involuntarily flicked to his crotch for a second. “That’s why you keep biting me there,” he stated.

“You like it. I like it. It’s a win-win.”

“We’ve been…” Noah scanned the space around them again. He wasn’t sure if anyone had gotten on the train at the last station, and he didn’t need to scandalize them with their conversation. “We’ve been fucking for over a month,” he whisper-growled as he crossed his arms and sat back too. “It’s normal that we know these things about each other. Otherwise, sex would be awful and we wouldn’t be doing it anymore.”

“True. But I also know you probably had a rough night with vodka some time ago.”

“And you know this because...” Noah lifted a challenging eyebrow.

“Your nose scrunches automatically the moment you smell it. Even when you’re just pouring it.”

“Okay. So, you’re observant. That much is obvious.”And scary. “Where are you going with all this?”

“The shit you were pulling before at the bar, I know it was all for show. That you were trying to get a reaction from me.”

“Which I did.”

“That’s not the point,” Kaj gritted. “We’re having fun, aren’t we?”

“Yeah.” Noah turned his face away to look out the window, catching nothing but his reflection over a dark, moving background.

“It’s not enough anymore?”

Silence.

“You wanna end it?” Kaj asked.
