“Enjoying yourself?” Kaj tossed as Noah approached him.

“It’s a decent job, entertaining even.”

“Must be. From where I’m sitting, it seems like all you do is flirt with every guy who pays you a little attention.”

He propped both hands on the counter. “And here I thought you didn’t care who I fuck.”

“I don’t.”

“That’s not what the wrinkle between your brows says.”

“You could fuck any of them right here, and I wouldn’t bat an eye.”

Noah quirked a brow and offered a patronizing grin. Rattling this man made him feel so damn powerful. “Jealousy doesn’t look good on you, Larsen.”

“Pretending you don’t love it doesn’t suit you either.” He scoffed. “What did he want anyway?”

“He,who?”

“Don’t play dumb or I’ll make you choke on the next stupid thing that comes out of your mouth.”

“Is that a threat?”

“If you keep pushing it, it’ll be a reality.” Kaj narrowed his eyes at him.

Chuckling, Noah grabbed the empty glass in front of him and reached for the whiskey to pour him another. “What are you doing here?”

“Took a long nap and got bored.”

“You mean after you went through my underwear drawer?”

“Why would I do that?”

Noah bent forward and rested his elbows on the counter. “I have some interesting things in there.”

“Good for you, but I don’t care what you hide in your drawers.” Brushing his lips along Noah’s jaw as he leaned forward, Kaj added, “All I care about is the way your filthy mouth swallows my cock and how that greedy, tight ass of yours strangles it when I have you on your knees completely at my mercy.”

Holy shit.

Noah straightened, flashing him a lopsided grin as his dick throbbed with enthusiasm. “Anyway, why here?” He cleared his throat, brain still not getting the memo that this wasn’t the moment or place to get horny. “Is there nowhere else to go in thewholecity?”

“Figured you could entertain me.” Kaj smirked and took a swig of whiskey, amused by the riot he’d caused in Noah’s pants.

“Am I your personal buffoon now?”

“Kinda.”

“Well, I beg your pardon, Your Highness, but I’m busy working. You know, that thing us mortals do to get money?”

Kaj rolled his eyes.

It was cute seeing him act this normal and let his face disclose what he was thinking, which he usually didn’t do. The tension wrapped around him all the time, as if he were in a constant state of alert, was exhausting even to watch. Noah didn’t know how he could live like that, but he liked him better this way—snarky with a touch of sadism but relaxed.

“I’ll wait,” he said.

Noah froze with a glass in each hand. “Are you gonna wait until the end of my shift?”

“Yeah.”
