“Yes, you fucking do. It’s the only way you’re gonna get rid of that cranky mood.”
“You’re cranky.”
He smirked devilishly. “Why are you fighting it? You have it so easy…”
“What are you talking about?” she asked, handing him another beer and opening one for herself. “By the way, you need to either remove that or repaint it. You look like a tramp.” She pointed at his hands in a lame attempt to change the conversation.
Chris peered at his nails. The black polish was chipped, but he didn’t care. “Haven’t you seen the way Aussie Blond has been looking at you since day one?” He gestured with his chin to the group across from them in the circle, ignoring her last comment.
“Which one? There are three of them.”
“Lead guitar. Well, the others too.” He laughed.
She lifted a shoulder while drinking. “So what?”
“Why don’t you pamper yourself?”
“Because.”
“That’s not an answer.”
“I don’t want to.”
Chris inched closer to her ear. “I’ve heard his junk is huge.”
“You jealous?” Leah snorted. “Also, where did you hear such a thing?”
“Ooh… So you’re interested.” He wiggled his brows.
“I’m not. Shut up.” Leah facepalmed him and pushed his head back, making him cackle like the idiot that he was.
He knew her and was aware she wasn’t interested. Years before, once she had overcome her fear of being touched by a man, she’d fooled around with different guys and learned to enjoy the perks of having sporadic flings without getting triggered. But Leah was an emotional being; needed more than physical interactions to feel sated. Still, teasing her was way more fun than trying to be kind and patting her on the shoulder; she already knew Chris loved her and would always have her back.
“Well, if you’re asking, it’s because you’re curious, right?”
“I’m just curious about the shit you talk about. How the hell did that come up in a conversation?”
“Like you and Julia don’t compare notes from your adventures.”
“I don’t wanna hear hers, or I’ll never be able to look Erik in the face again. And I don’t talk about mine in detail unless I need advice.”
“You’re missing out, then.”
“Just keeping my dirty memories to myself so I can be the only one fantasizing about them.”
“Fair.” Chris put an arm around her shoulders, pulling her against him. “And for the record, it came up during a heart-to-heart conversation about bizarre sexual moments. Apparently sweet Ethan destroyed a chick once. Abloody mess,he said.”
“Heart-to-heart.” She snorted again. “Isn’t it too soon for that kind of chitchat?”
“We’ve been talking with them for three months already, dude, and that’s the best way to bond.”
“Of course.” Leah rolled her eyes. “Anyway, you think that makes him desirable? Being a pussy destroyer? I don’t wanna get mine unalived, thank you.”
“To be fair, the chick was a virgin, didn't tell him, and they were high.”
“Again. Not interested.”
“Come on, I bet you’ve wondered how full he’d feel inside you.” Chris put his beer between his legs and did the universal hand sign for sex.
