“That’s…” Out of words, the guitarist gaped like a fish, then laughed, rubbing both palms over his face. “I’m actually proud of her, and also hate that I missed that.”

Marc smirked. “Me too.” Confident that no one around them would eavesdrop or understand their conversation as they were speaking German, he added, “By the way, Søren finally knowseverything.”

“Holy shit.”

“Yeah…” Resting the guitar on his lap, the bassist turned towards him. “Remember they had agreed to meet and talk?” Chris nodded. “Things didn’t work out as expected… they had some sort of fight, but she still told him about it all.”Yelling at him because she was mad after seeing him kissing Taylor, Marc thought. He would not get into the details of the drama. Whenever she was better, she would tell him about it all herself.

Of course, he omitted the part where Leah had bluntly told him she knew about his unrequited love for the guitarist, too. He didn’t need to know that.

But also, what the fuck? How the hell did she find out? Because that“you’re always the sweetest, but you’re different with him”crap she’d said was scary. Had anyone else noticed? Had Chris noticed?

“When have you fucking sat for tea and pastries?” Chris grumbled.

“Last night when I brought her back.”

“Oh.” He tilted his head. “Now that you mention that. Why the hell did you leave?”

“Because she needed to come back,” Marc said matter-of-factly.

“I mean before that.”

“I went out to smoke.”

“Okay.” Chris rolled his eyes with a huff.

Marc raised a brow. “What?”

“You might not want to talk about it, but I know something is bothering you,” he murmured.

“What are you talking about now?”

“You’ve been fucking weird these last few days. Barely talking to me.”

The bassist snickered, pulling a condescending smirk as he inched closer to his friend. “Says the man who’s done nothing other than play guitar, bang, sleep, and repeat.”

“Is that it? You’re jealous?”

Something in Marc’s stomach twisted in a knot. Was he? “Of what?”

“Of me having pussy every night.”

“Eh… no. Happy for you. And for everyone else on the bus. You were starting to be a pain in the ass.”

“Whatever.” Chris waved a hand, proudly grinning from ear to ear like the shithead he was as Erik sat back in his chair. “Hey, Wolff!” he called, looking behind Marc.

“Hey… How is it going?” Søren asked as he stopped beside them, his deep, hoarse voice sending a shiver down the bassist’s spine.

Dark Omen’s frontman wasn’t his type; too rugged for his liking. Sure, he was attractive with that chest-length, dark hair, ocean blue eyes, stubbled sharp jaw, and tattoos. One had to be stupid not to see how hot he was. But it was his almost guttural voice that gave him godly vibes. Okay, that and his bodystructure—tall and muscular.

“Good,” Chris replied before taking a sip of his beer. “Wanna sit?” he offered, his confused expression saying he had no idea why the Norseman was here.

Marc had to bite down on his bottom lip to stop a cheesy smile from spreading on his face because he knew.

“Thanks, but I’m… looking for Leah,” Søren said, the subtle looks in his direction becoming blatant as the loud chit-chat going on within the group fell almost silent.

“She’s on the bus,” the bassist stated without looking at him.Fucking finally.

“She’s kind of weird, though. But I’m glad you’re here.” Chris got up. “The duchess of douche is too stubborn to make the first move.”
