Marc was about to say something else when his phone vibrated on the coffee table beside Sophia’s feet. As his gaze landed on Chris’s name and the beginning of his text, his mind traveled back for a moment, to the second and last time he and the guitarist had fucked James before returning to Germany…
“Marc, you awake?” Chris had asked.
“What is it?” he mumbled, eyes so heavy he couldn’t even open them. He was dead fucking tired after the wild night they’d had. Thinking about the trip that was waiting for them didn’t help, either.
“Have you always done this?”
“What do you mean?” he said without turning to face him.
“The group sex thing.”
“Hmm…” He yawned. “Depends.”
“On what?”
“Dude, it’s past three in the morning. Just ask whatever you wanna ask and let me sleep.”
“Nah, it’s alright. Sorry.”
Grumbling and huffing, Marc turned around, looking at him with hooded eyes. “Spill it.”
“It’s nothing. I was just curious if it’s something you’ve always done willingly or more like… to please your partners.”
“I’m adaptable. I don’t need to fuck more than one person to be happy, but if my partner wants to experiment, I’ll willingly do it. It’s fun.” He lifted a shoulder, not sure where Chris was going with all this.
“It never affected your relationships?”
“You’re aware that I’ve only had three serious relationships, right? That with my first girlfriend we barely fucked a few times before we broke up. Then Viktor. And my last, I couldn’t get near another human being without her going all psycho.”
“Hmm… yeah. True.”
Marc quirked a brow. “Why?”
“Just curious how you went from a monogamous relationship to an open one?”
“You mean with Viktor,” he deadpanned.
“Yeah.”
“It wasn’t an open relationship. We never had sex with others on our own,” the bassist clarified. “Anyway, to answer your question, it happened four years after we started dating.”
“Was it his idea or yours?”
“It was more like a suggestion, a fantasy he wanted to play out.”
“Didn’t it make you mad?”
“No, but it had me freaking out for weeks, until it subsided and I understood his needs weren’t emotional, not even sexual. I had that pretty well covered.” Marc smirked. “It wasn’t that being with me wasn’t enough or that something was lacking, but curiosity had raised its head, and he wanted to explore it with me.”
“So, neither of you ever had second thoughts about the guys you brought in? Like doubts about your feelings for them or anything?”
“Nope.”
“How were you so sure? I mean, not about you, but about him.”
“Because we had never been more honest or our relationship more solid before he opened up to me about how he was feeling.”
“I see…”
