“No,” Savage said simply, turning his back on Astaroth.“I have better things to do than bicker with you like a child. You have exactly five seconds to leave my territory before I take your head.”
The female’s face twisted in fear as she shifted from side to side. Her sensible leather shoes squeaked like a ticking time bomb, with Savage the fucking fuse.Scepter had a feeling she’d storm off if she could.Of course, Savage wouldn’t allow her to go anywhere that wasn’t within his sight.
Savage sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. The female’s eyes widened, and both of their scents filled the air with their need for one another increasing. The female might pretend she didn’t want Savage, but her body sure as fuck did.
“I’d apologize, Vita Mea, but we both know it would be a lie.”Savage brushed his thumb over her lips.
“Boss, it’s been five seconds, and they’re still here,” Scepter said, reminding Savage of his threat.Someone needed to keep them on track.
Savage snapped his fingers. The room shifted, and the club disappeared, replaced with a large room filled with the rest of their clan.Astaroth’s smirk faltered, replaced by a flicker of uncertainty.Ah, Scepter enjoyed watching Savage fuck with the minds of their enemies.
Savage placed the female behind him with Trystan, with Trystina flanking her.
“What is the meaning of this?”Astaroth asked, spinning in a circle, his arms wide, no doubt searching for an exit.
“This is my chamber.I didn’t want to cause any more damage in the club that humans might see.You never know when one might have abilities,” Savage said, rubbing his chin.
“You truly think you can kill my enforcers and me without repercussions?”Astaroth asked, taking a step toward Savage.
Savage eliminated the space separating them.“I gave you chances, multiple chances to leave of your own accord, but you continued to challenge me.This is my territory. She is MINE,” Savage roared.
The very walls shook with his anger.Astaroth was an older vampire. He’d thought he held the upper hand.Scepter wanted to laugh at his ignorance.
“Fine, I see you have a—connection with her that is greater than what I thought I had sensed.I will take my leave if you allow it?”Astaroth gritted out.His face flushed a deep red.
“Hmm, you almost sound sincere. How can I be sure you won’t return with an army to try and take me and mine out?”Savage asked, walking back to where he’d left his female.
Trystan and his twin Trystina kept her between them without physically touching her.
“A blood oath?”Savage asked. He’d moved back to his chair, dubbed his throne, and looked back at Astaroth with a mocking stare.
Scepter could’ve told him if he were smart, he’d have shut the fuck up.
Astaroth sucked in an audible breath.“You know that is not something one usually does.”
With one leg draped casually over the arm of his chair, Savage waited for the other vampire to realize he had no other recourse.
“You’re a true bastard, Savage Rossi.Fine, I will do it.”
Before the other male could take the words back, Savage flashed in front of him.“I’m glad you made that decision, Astaroth. The last thing I wanted to do was wipe your clan from this Earth.”He grabbed Astaroth’s right arm, baring his wrist.“Scepter, a cup if you will.”
Scepter had known Savage wouldn’t be biting into the other vampire with his own teeth. He brought the large black goblet over in a flash, placing it below the bastard’s wrist.Neither of them was willing to risk a permanent connection to the deceitful male. However, Savage could secure the oath through the blood and bind his words in the way of their kind.Astaroth’s blood would mix into a ritual as old as time, ensuring his oath would keep him from trying to take back his word.
Savage sliced open the male’s vein, allowing blood to fill the cup halfway, then lifted Astaroth’s arm.“Seal your wound.”
The hate emanating wasn’t shocking.Astaroth sealed the cut without another word.Neither he nor Savage was affected by the other male’s show of distaste.
“Lift the block so we may leave.”Astaroth’s words were more than a request.Savage waved his hand, transporting them back into the club under the protective cover he’d created.
“Do not take my kindness for weakness, Astaroth.I allowed you and these males to live with little to no damage.Although you lost several males, I could’ve taken all of your heads.Don’t make me regret being lenient.”
Scepter watched Savage lose his shit. His best friend recognized the female and who she was to him, and through his link with Savage, he heard Savage’s raw exclamation.
He stayed by Savage’s side while they flashed outside and escorted Astaroth out of the club. The other male had made a stupid mistake, thinking he had claiming rights on Savage’s territory.
Once the other alpha vampire and his clan were gone, Savage went in search of his female, and then Scepter dissipated to mist, knowing what he needed to do.He also tagged the old vampire with a binding spell the old bastard wouldn’t notice.Savage might think the fucker wouldn’t be back, but Scepter knew Astaroth’s kind.He was a male very much like Scepter’s father had been.He wouldn’t risk his King’s life on it.
When he flashed back inside, he noticed Cleo pouting.“What’s the trouble?”
