“I do plan on wearing something really body hugging for tonight. Do a little shimmy here, shimmy there. He can’t miss it.” Greta did a little boob dance at the table and I laughed, loving her even more.

“He’d be stupid or blind if he missed it.” I stood and picked up her empty plate. “Cook’s rules—cooks don’t clean.”

“You can cook for me every damn day and I’ll clean every inch of the place.” Greta hugged me again and I leaned into it. She had been and always would be my rock.

“We’ve got ourselves a deal.”

“Good. You go shower and pick out a girlie outfit. We leave in an hour.”

“Tanner will flip.” Greta pulled down the hem of her summer dress, with pockets again, as I tried to assure her the dress fit her perfectly.

“I think I distance myself because I’m afraid of rejection. He’s one of the best ball players here. He could have any girl. Why pick me, ya know? I’d rather stay friends than try and be humiliated.”

“That’s brave of you to admit. I think half the problem people our age have is fear of rejection.” I sighed, thinking of all the bad dates we’d been on and the countless horror stories of dating. “You are amazing and are one of the best damn people I know. Tanner cares about you, friend or more than friends, and you don’t have to make any decision right now. Because you promised me these parties were fun. And I want to have some fun.” I hooked my arm around her neck, her height even with mine in her heels. “This is my first college party. I’m sweating. I’m nervous.”

“I’m a terrible friend. I’m worrying about boy issues when I should be celebrating us being in college together after all these years. Punch my tits.”

“I’ll wait to cash that in when it’s needed. Like, if you’re being a twat one day. Right now is not that moment. We are going to walk into that party and have fun, damn it!”

“Yes! C and G are back, baby!” Greta shouted and some girls across the street cheered us. We burst out laughing and took our time on our way to the house. “Now, you’ve met Tanner and Aaron. Hopefully you’ll get to meet the other two guys. They’re dreamy as hell.”

“Who are you calling dreamy? It better be me, Greta.” Aaron poked his head out of the front door with a big-ass grin.

“Of course. You’re a gem, Aaron.” Greta went to hug him. “You smell nice. I’m proud you showered.”

“When you have sex as much as I do, you have to keep it clean.” He winked at me and I choked on my laugh.

“God, you’re a slut.” His face broke into a shit-eating grin and I thought his over the top sex-crazed brain entertaining.

“Self-diagnosed and no sign of rehab. Come on in, ladies. Greta, your dress…damn girl. Damn.”

“Thanks. Thought I’d try it out.” She blushed.

“Killing it.” Aaron held the door open for me and gave me an up and down. “Callie, you slay me.”

“How’s that?” I winked at him, which he ate up.

“Not many girls choose to wear outfits like yours to our house.” I frowned at my black skinny jeans and gray crop top.

“I can’t decide if you insulted me or nah.” I peered up at him, to see him checking out my ass. “Aaron.”

“My bad. You’re rocking the jeans. But, no, that wasn’t an insult at all. I hate to sound like a tool bag but—”

“If you start a sentence like that, it probably means you are. Just saying.” I held up a hand to protect myself and heard laughter behind me. I twirled around to see a pair of long legs and yet another incredibly attractive guy.

“He is a tool. Don’t let him fool you.” The deep, commanding drew me in and I had a hard time looking away. Why is their house filled with models? Why am I sweating? Ugh!

“You must be one of the other roommates. I’m Callie.”

I went over to shake his hand, but not before wiping mine on my jeans, and his large grip swallowed mine.

“Hi, Callie. I’m Jeff. Nice to meet you. Don’t let Aaron get you all ruffled up. He’s like the little kid who always runs around the neighborhood.”

“I heard that, asshole.” Aaron smacked Jeff on the back of the head. “And I told her most girls wouldn’t wear that here.”

“Oh, right. Because you guys hostorgyparties. My mistake. I’ll leave the clothing at home next time.” I crossed my eyes and both Aaron and Jeff laughed.
