Logan gave them a nod, then turned to head to where his warriors were standing in the waiting area. “Why are you both over here?”

“We thought to give the female privacy while she is being examined.”

“Her name is Faith. You will stay with her. When Medic Haggard clears her, take her to our assigned quarters. Give her one of the empty bedrooms. She has had nothing to eat except energy bars. I’ll see if I can arrange bathing supplies and clean clothes. I’m concerned that Dome Leader Winstead will send soldiers to take her into their custody.”

“Would they harm a female?” Warrior Lake asked.

Logan spoke the truth. “I can’t trust that they wouldn’t hurt her to get their answers.”

“We will guard her with our lives.”

“I know you two will keep her safe.”

Logan had no sooner stepped through the double doors leading out of the medical facility than a couple of soldiers stopped him.

“Sir, can we take you somewhere?”

“I know the way,” Logan said without looking at them.

One asked the other. “What do we do?”

“I’ll stay here. You follow him.”

Logan ignored the soldier rushing to catch up to him. He knew the way; his memory was excellent. He only had to see a layout once, and he could memorize and recall it. It was very helpful when infiltrating the enemy camp. It felt like he was within the enemy camp already.

He took the elevator up a few levels. Then he traveled down the gray corridor toward the offices marked for Dome Leader Winstead. The door was open, and he could see the assistant. When she saw him walk in, she jumped up from her desk.

“Captain Coor. We’re glad you are okay after the raid last night. Can I get you something to eat or drink?”

“No, thank you, Mary. But if you wouldn’t mind, could you find bathing supplies and clothing for the human female currently in the medical facility?”

“Absolutely! What size does she wear?”

Logan frowned. He did not know what her clothing size was. What she was wearing was too large for her. He held out his hands. “She’s about this tall and her waist is about this big.”

Mary laughed. “I will call down to speak with one of the nurses. They will assess her size for me.”

“I appreciate that.”

“Will she need something to eat?”

“Yes. She’s only had a few energy bars. My warriors Lake and Powers will need something to eat, also.”

“I will call the chefs and have food sent to your quarters for the female, you, and your warriors.”

“Thank you.”

He knew that Dome Leader Winstead was watching them from his doorway. His arms were crossed over his chest and his face was red. Perhaps the male needed to be checked out by the medics. That color may mean he wasn’t in the best of health.

“Are you done talking about food?” Dome Leader Winstead asked.

Logan gave Mary a smile before turning toward Dome Leader Winstead. “Yes.”

“Great, so maybe we can finally have a debrief on what happened last night and why the woman is in my medical facility instead of being interrogated.”

“We will discuss many things dome leader. Including the leak you have tried to hide from us.”

Logan ignored the gasp from Mary and the shocked expression on the male as he walked past him into the office. There were many problems he had with this leader, and he was not afraid to voice them.
