“Why do you want to know?” she asked suspiciously.

“Whoever planned this raid came with weapons and explosives. I’m not sure yet how many were injured or if it killed anyone.”

“Killed? No, that wasn’t the plan.”

“What was the plan?”

Faith wrapped her arms around herself. “I wasn’t involved in the planning of this, but my bro, my tribe leader, would never agree to kill anyone.”

“Who is your tribe leader? How do you know what his true intentions were if you weren’t a part of the planning?” Logan asked with anger in his voice.

She kept her mouth shut. There was no way she would give up her brother. But she started to question whether Felix had known about the weapons beforehand. Was that why he didn’t want her to come tonight? If only they had remained close like they used to be. Felix, eight years ago, would never agree to killing anyone. The Felix of today, she wasn’t so sure about.

“How many are in your tribe?” he asked.

She remained quiet. Faith was a lot of things, but a snitch was not one of them.

“What was your tribe after? Food, medicine, or more weapons?”

Again, she remained quiet.

He growled with frustration. “Faith, I’m trying to help you. You were involved in a raid that injured, possibly killed, human soldiers and Drastan warriors. An attack on one Drastan is an attack on the entire Drastan race. That’s how serious this is.”

Oh God! The Drastans could declare war on her tribe, on all of Earth even. What was Felix thinking, agreeing to this terrible plan? She had to convince Logan not to go after her people.

“My tribe leader didn’t plan this.”

“Who did?”

She hesitated to tell the truth. If she told him about Waller, eventually her brother’s participation would be addressed. Faith wasn’t sure what the right thing to do would be, so she remained quiet.
