Chapter 15
Julia
Something loud and angry drags me out of sleep.
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
No… no, this can't be real. Who in their right mind sets an alarm for—
A hand slams into the nightstand, and then I hear Kai groan; his voice is thick and rough with sleep. “Fuck off.”
I blink awake and instantly realize I’m trapped.
I take in my surroundings from my pinned spot.
There is a warm, hard breath on my neck. A heavy arm banded across my waist, and a wild thump-thump-thump of someone’s heartbeat pressed againstmy back.
Mikey.
Then another body on my front, chest to chest, with a leg thrown over mine.
Kai.
I am sandwiched.
My entire body is overheating because I’m very aware that both of them sleep shirtless. And apparently… They are clingy.
Kai’s eyes crack open first, “Well,” his deep voice rumbles, vibrating through my bones. “Morning, little dove.”
His hand flexes on my thigh, and my breath stutters.
Behind me, Mikey shifts, pulling me tighter against his chest with a soft, sleepy groan. His lips brush the back of my shoulder, which lights a fuse straight down my spine.
“Mmmm… Jules…” He murmurs, half-asleep. “Warm…”
I swear my soul leaves my body at his groggy words.
“Kai,” I whisper, because he’s awake more than Mikey, “you have practice?”
“Uh-huh,” He says, unbothered as he starts to trace slow circles on my thigh, slowly drifting higher… then higher… too high…
My stomach drops. Heat blooming low and fast in my belly.
“Mikey,” I try next.
He tightens his arm around me, pulling me flush against all of him.
I feel every inch of him. Every muscle and hard, sleepy line of him.
“Five more minutes,” he mumbles into my neck. Then presses a soft kiss against my skin.
I jolt, and Kai’s eyes snap to me. The look of possessive protection flickers across his face.
“Easy,” he says, leaning closer, letting his warm breath ghost across my lips. “You okay?”
No… Not even a little. My pulse is pounding, and my brain is mush as electricity flows through my system.
“Y-yes,” I manage to squeak out.
