The next day, Jessica heads to the paddock to meet with her team about the upcoming race weekend in Budapest.
Ialso have a meeting scheduled with her team, or rather her boss, Anne, but she doesn’t know about it.
I wanted to ensure we’re clear about becoming a public couple and that there are no risks for Jessica being with me. I’ve arranged a meeting with Anne, which I’m going to now.
When I get to her office on the bus, she greets me with a warm smile.
“Hello Luke, nice to meet you.” I gently shake her hand.
“Nice to meet you, too, Anne. It’s quite the media outlet you got going here,” I tell her with genuine awe in my voice.
The Star News team seems like a small family, and the fact that Jessica will be able to continue her dreams here in the paddock makes me so proud. She has come a long way in the short time she has been here.
We settle into our seats.
“What can I help you with, Luke? I imagine it has to do with a certain intern on our team.” I may or may not have been as discreet around her team as I thought.
Obviously, I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in their media zone and making eyes at Jessica every chance I get.
To outsiders, it wouldn’t necessarily cause any suspicion; for the insiders who’ve been here a long time, they know something’s beengoing on.
I decide that complete honesty is the best approach in this situation. Anne seems like a lady who would appreciate me getting straight to the point.
“Yeah, so you’ve probably seen me around Jessica. We’re together, and we’re ready to take the next step and make our relationship public. She’s had some concerns about it being a problem, since she works in media, and I’m a driver. I want to make sure everything is okay on both ends before we do that.”
Anne gives me a reassuring smile, and I feel myself relaxing in her presence. I can understand why Jessica would appreciate having someone like Anne as her boss and mentor. She has a warm personality and makes you feel at ease.
“I figured something was going on with all your visits to our spot over these last few months. There are no concerns on our end. I’ve told Jessica this as well,” Anne says, and it feels good to have the confirmation.
After making a mistake once, I’m determined not to repeat it; therefore, I will ensure that every aspect is covered.
Being in the public eye can be overwhelming, especially whenyou’ve never experienced it. Having Anne’s reassurance feels good, knowing that nothing will stand in our way now.

We’re driving to the paddock; Jessica’s hand is intertwined with my own and resting on top of my thigh while I drive.
“You sure you’re okay with us being out in public? The media will probably have a field day, seeing us together,” I tell her, and she squeezes my hand tightly. I park the car and look over to her.
She seems nervous, and I can’t blame her.
We don’t know how this will play out.
If the media goes crazy, start interrogating her, digging up any information they can about her and her life.
“I’m ready, Luke.” She swallows before looking back into my eyes.
I grab her face and kiss her, pouring every emotion into the kiss.
“We got this.”
I go in for another kiss, not getting enough of her.
I think I will never get enough of her.
