When I get my phone back, I smile seeing a text waiting for me.
Jessica:Sure seemed like you were a little extra motivated today hotshot. Congratulations on a great race, proud of you <3
Luke:Thank you baby girl. I can’t wait to claim my real prize later today.
When it’s time for the podium celebration, I spot Jessica in the crowd, and she’s all smiles.
I take it all in, the cheers from my team and the fans, the champagne spray, and, best of all, the beautiful girl cheering for me amid the chaos.
Afterwards, I shower quickly and try to complete the interviews as quickly as possible. It still feels like forever, but my mood is way lighter than Baku and Bahrain, now that I’m the one leading the championship.
Whenever you have a bad day on track, you still have to face the media afterward.
Nothing like talking to a bunch of reporters whoask you what you did wrong and why you didn’t perform the way everyone expects.
Today, everyone is congratulating me on my great drive and being on top.
When I finally finish and head over to Star News, I see that they’ve already left for the day.
I send a text to Jessica, asking if she’s ready to go, and she immediately texts back that she’ll meet me by the exit.
I pack up my stuff, say goodbye to the team, and make my way to my car.
Sometimes the team goes out for a celebratory dinner; other times, we’re too tired to do something big and extravagant.
Today, I made it clear I had plans, but I told everyone that dinner and drinks were on me if anyone wanted to go out to celebrate our win.
I drive over to the exit and spot Jessica. She’s as gorgeous as ever with her hair down. She’s wearing a black trench coat and maybe some stockings again?
That would make this day even better.
She slips into my car and immediately leans over to kiss me.
“I’m so proud of you,” she tells me with admiration in her eyes. Ilean into her again, not getting enough of her.
“Ready to go?” I ask her, and she nods.
The anticipation is rising, both of us knowing how the night will end. I grab her hand and lace our fingers together before asking her about her day.
“Well, I just had to hear everyone gush over how amazing Luke Hastings is, so it was rather terrible.” She jokes at me, making me chuckle.
I don’t mind someone reminding her just how amazing her boyfriend is.
She tells me that some of the social media content they’ve been working on was posted today, and it seems to be performing very well so far.
“My hardworking reporter. I might have to give you an exclusive interview when you get your big break,” I tell her, and she smiles at me.
I’m not the biggest fan of elaborate interviews, but I would trust Jessica to tell my story if we ever decided to do one.
“Yeah, yeah. People would probably make fun of me for having sex eyes at you the whole time.” I bring our hands up and kiss her knuckles.
“Ah, baby, but it would go both ways so that theycould make fun of both of us.”
We head to the hotel and take the elevator upstairs. I told Robert to have dinner ready, but to leave us alone for the evening.
What I plan to do with Jessica is for my eyes only.
When we arrive at my suite, dinner is already set up with candles burning softly, casting a warm amber glow across the room. Robert has carefully covered the food to keep it warm, and I make a mental note to give him a nice bonus for the romantic setup.
