And he did. Over and over again. Until the sun rose to shine through his window.

Chapter Forty-Five

I woke up with a muscled arm over my waist, and instantly assumed it was Rath's. Then I remembered. And I smiled.

I'd been so caught up in a man who didn't want me that I had held back from the wonderful man who did. Yes, I'd given Kel a chance, and I knew I'd been falling for him, but my fascination with Jath kept me from taking the final leap. It kept me from recognizing that I hadn't just been falling in love, I had fallen.

I had made a mistake with Jath, but luckily, it wasn't one that couldn't be corrected. I was with the men I was meant to love, and all Jath had of me was that one time. I had felt sorry for him, and I think that sympathy had cast him in a better light than he deserved. Yes, he was handsome and a good Wraith Lord. He must be honorable too, or the Goddess wouldn't have chosen him. But his bitterness over the deaths of those trainees had mixed with his desire for me and clouded that honor. No, wait, that was unfair. I wouldn't let his bitterness make me bitter and say mean things about him. Jathwashonorable, he was merely fighting an attraction he didn't want to feel, and that made him behave poorly. It didn't make him evil, just a bit of an ass. And now, he'd have to live with the knowledge that he had wrecked his chance with me.

It was his problem now.

“Good morning,” Keltyr said in a sleep-roughened voice and nuzzled my neck.

“Good morning.” I wriggled back against him.

“So, who's next?”

I jerked out of his embrace and turned to gape at him. “Excuse me?”

Kel chuckled and pulled me back over to him. “I'm teasing you. Come here.” He brushed his lips over mine. “My beautiful boyfriend.”

“Boyfriend, huh?”

“Lover?”

“Definitely lover. And you're more than a boyfriend.”

“What shall you name us then?”

“I have to name you?”

“Yes. Me, Ratharin, and Xaedren. What are we?”

“Mine.” I grinned and kissed him.

After a few minutes of groaning and stroking, we eased apart. I ran a finger over one of his curling horns.

Kel took my hand from his horn and kissed it. “What are you thinking?”

“That I'm lucky.” I smirked. “And I was thinking about how fun it was to use your horns as handles when you sucked my cock.”

Keltyr grinned wickedly. “Would you like another go?”

“Yes, but later.” I kissed the tip of his nose. “After our activities last night, I'm starving.”

Kel's expression went serious as he lifted a hand to my cheek. “You saved my life.”

“By fucking you?” I teased. “I had no idea I was so powerful.”

“You know what I mean. You came for me all by yourself. You used Death Magic to infiltrate the Corrupter's castle and free me. You risked everything for me. Thank you, Ember.”

“Forgive me for what I did with Jathalion, and we can call it even.”

“You were forgiven the moment it happened.” He sat up and hung his head. “I was hurt, but I never blamed you.”

“Kel.” I sat up and laid my hand on his back. “He was something unattainable. That's all. I let myself get wrapped up in things that didn't matter when I already had what was important.”

He angled his head to look at me. “And what's important?”
