“Put him in his cell,” Ugela said. “Now, tell us how to become immortal.”

“Not you,” I said smugly to her. “I said I would makehimimmortal. It won't work with you.”

“What?!” Ugela screeched.

Talon held up a calming hand. “Once I am immortal, we can experiment on me and extract the immortality for you.”

Ugela grimaced but nodded.

Talon stepped up to my cell. “How?”

“There is only one way for you to get a piece of my immortality,” I said even as my stomach turned. “You must share my magic. You have to join our fusion.”

Talon's jaw dropped.

“Join your fusion?” Ugela growled. “You want to take him as a lover?”

“No, Idon't.” I glared at Talon. “But I will if you swear to let us go afterward. All of us.”

Talon blinked, recovered from his surprise, and cocked his head at me.

To create a fusion, there were three steps—sharing auras, a kiss, and then sex. But to add a kishano, it was far easier. I merely had to want the man in the fusion and have sex with him. At least, I think that's what I needed to do; I had drawn the other men into our fusion accidentally. What was certain was that after I invited Talon into the Fusion, he'd have to accept it through sex shared with my other kishanos. But I should be able to bring him into the Fusion alone—start the process, as it were. Once Talon was connected to me, he would need me. If he tried to leave, he'd experience the nesilura—separation pains. Either way, Talon would be joined to us, and hurting us would not be in his best interests. It was the rest of F.E.A.R. and Rain who would be vulnerable. But if he had any honor in him, there was one way I could guarantee everyone's safety.

“Your fusion allows you to share your immortality?” Talon asked.

“We told you this already,” I huffed. “It shares all of our magic and it magnifies our power. You saw that for yourself. If you joined us, you'd not only be immortal, but you'd also be more powerful. You wouldn't need Leo's magic.”

Talon began to grin.

“And what about me?” Ugela screeched at Talon. “How will I get immortality from you? It won't be in your blood or your magic.”

“Calm yourself,” he snarled at her.

“No. I won't let you do this,” she declared. “If you're fused with her, you won't want to extract her magic.”

“We can still experiment with her blood.”

“And weaken your lover?” she sneered. “You won't do it. Look at her; she knows it too. Once she has you in that Faulin fusion, you'll be hers.”

“No, I won't.” Talon grinned cruelly. “None of them have lost themselves.” He waved a hand around at my sleeping men. “They love her, but that was how they felt before they fused with her. I have no such emotional ties to her. I will remain in control.”

“You're a fool!” Ugela snapped. “You're not doing this; I forbid it.”

“Forbid it?” Talon laughed scathingly. “I'm in charge, not you, Ugela.”

“We are partners!”

Talon spread his wings suddenly and then wrapped them around Ugela. His shriek echoed, dampened by his wings. It came again, and again, and again, along with Ugela's screams, and then I heard the crunch of bones followed by silence. When Talon folded his wings back, Ugela was bleeding from her eyes, nose, mouth, and ears, and her neck was at a strange angle. Her body crumpled to the ground, lifeless. Talk about overkill.

“She'll die screaming,” I whispered.

“What was that?” Talon lifted a brow at me.

“That's what you vowed; that Ugela would die screaming.”

Talon smirked at me, then with a wave at Ugela's corpse he said to the minions, “Get that out of here.”

As the men carried Ugela's body from the room, Talon turned to me with a wicked smile.
