A couple of Ugela's minions returned, one of them carrying a box. The other took bottles of water and sandwiches from the box and tossed them through the bars at us like bananas at monkeys. They paused at Lily's cell and muttered something to each other. I caught the tail end of it. Those bastards were rapists as well as thugs. They were also German.

When they left the room, Kyrian asked me, “That was German, wasn't it?”

“Yes,” it was Talon who answered, his eyes narrowed.

“That's right, your parents live in Germany,” I recalled.

“They do.” He nodded, then grimaced. “You don't think that they've taken us to Germany, do you?”

“We couldn't have been out that long,” I said pensively. “My immortality would have woken me.”

“They could have kept dosing you,” Leo said.

“Ugela must have a team working for her,” Kyrian added. “They could have knocked us out and taken us up to a spacecraft through a transporter. Then it would have only taken minutes to get us to Germany.”

“They could have used Malik's ship,” I said softly. “His old ship.”

“What?” Malik squished his face at me. “How?”

“Haven't you noticed that someone is missing?” Cyprian drawled.

Thank goodness, I really didn't want to be the one to say it.

“Who, Braxis?” Malik asked in surprise. “No. No way. He's completely in love with Mara. He wouldn't...” Mal trailed off.

“Yeah, he doesn't exactly have the best track record,” Davorin muttered.

“Don't you dare say I told you so, Dav!” Lily snapped.

Dav held up his hands in surrender. “I wasn't going to.”

“He doesn't have to,” I said morosely. “Braxis has betrayed us. It has to be him; he's the only one absent. And he could have easily drugged us while we slept, then taken us through Mal's transporter, right onto the craft he brought back from Hell.”

“Then transported us to Germany,” Cyprian concluded with a nod.”

“Why are you so fucking calm?” Rain asked Cyprian.

“Because—”

“She could be listening,” I cut Cyprian off.

Cyprian switched to Faulin to say, “As soon as our magic returns, we shall unite and blast our way through these cells.”

“Can we do that?” Malik asked—both he and Kyrian had recently learned Faulin.

“I believe so. The Fusion made it past a similar barrier when Amara was in that supe prison. Why not here?” Cyprian grinned and added, “And that's only if the barrier is in the bars. If it's only in the walls, we won't have any problems at all.”

I nodded while Kyrian and Malik started to grin.

“What?” Rain asked.

“My kishanos and I might be able to pool our strength and break out of the cells,” I said to him in Dralmarin. Then I repeated it in Furinian for Talon.

“Through the Fusion?” Talon asked.

“Yes. It magnifies our abilities and our strength.”

“That's convenient.” Talon chuckled, then smirked. “Well, won't this be fun?”
