“I’ll be gentle, don’t worry,” Luca said in his kind, melodic, a little raspy voice.

I blushed, because goddamnit. It wasn’t the pain I was worried about. Ben shook with silent laughter, and I turned my head to glare at him.

“It’s interesting your voice is still a bit raspy,” I blurted out.

Luca’s gaze caught mine and he frowned, thinking about it. “I suppose so. If the turning ‘heals’ the broken bits, then I suppose this was always how my voice was supposed to be?”

“Probably.” Rian smiled, then nudged Luca’s shoulder with his knuckles. “Enough stalling.”

Luca took a deep breath, then locked eyes with me as he brought my arm up, my wrist to his mouth.

My system betrayed me, and I shivered again, but I nodded at the question in his expression. He bit through, and the small sting was immediately dwarfed by the way Luca’s eyes fluttered closed, and the euphoria that coursed through my body.

I barely registered Ben’s hand on the back of my neck, rubbing with his thumb for comfort, a gesture that was as familiar as my own breathing.

I didn’t get hard, but I knew it could happen. The half mast in my sweats was absolutely no surprise, nor was it something I needed to feel embarrassed about, because we all knew that was a possibility.

There was a sensuality in the bite I hadn’t expected, and the pathetic little whimper that escaped me as the feel-good stuff coursed through my body was another thing I couldn’t help.

“That’s enough,” Rian said firmly.

This time, Luca stopped immediately. He opened his eyes and gazed into mine, and we both must’ve looked a bit dazed.

My heartbeat started to slow back down, and I smiled at him. The punctures were already closing, he didn’t need to lick over them like was customary to heal them on a human.

Instead of doing that, he pressed a kiss on where he’d drank, and my fucking heart fluttered.

“Thank you,” he whispered, giving me his beautiful, mesmerizing smile, and only my brother’s touch kept me from floating into the stratosphere.

When it was bedtime, Rian said he’d sleep on the couch.

“You three can take the bed. It’s going to be the safest and the most comfortable.”

Everyone knew Ben and I slept in the same bed, so it made sense that was what he suggested.

“Are you going to drag the couch to block the door or something,” Luca snarked, but there was a genuine worry in his eyes he couldn’t hide from us.

“Nah,” Rian said easily. “If you went nuts and wanted out, you’d go through the window.”

We all chuckled at that.

“Besides, if he getsthathungry, he has two snacks next to him,” Ben said in a mock practical tone.

Luca fluttered his long as fuck lashes at him. “My, my, are you telling me you’re a whole snack, Ben?”

Ben looked at himself, then shrugged. “Yeah, I kinda think I am. But so is he.” He pointed at me.

I blushed. Luca was just joking. This was joking between friends. I just wasn’t used to it and I ducked my head a little.

“Well, if you three would kindly remove yourself from the living room, I’d like to call my man now.” Rian sniffed, taking the attention off me.

“Let’s go before the phone sex starts.” Luca bounced off the couch like it was on fire. The effect was ruined by his teasing grin.

He led the way into the bedroom, and then stopped at the end of the bed.

“How do you want to do this?” Ben asked the obvious.

This time, I could swear it was Luca who blushed a little. “Uh, I feel a bit… I don’t know. Unsettled? Not… not scared or anything, just….” He shrugged and averted eye contact.
