I cleared my throat awkwardly. “I’ll think about it.”

Harriet smiled tightly. “All right. Thank you, Luukas.”

She got up. “The food is ready downstairs,” she reminded me as if I couldn’t guess by the sounds drifting up.

“We’ll be right there.”

It wasn’t until she walked away, her heels clicking on the stairs, that I realized Bear had tensed and never relaxed again.

I gently tugged his hair to make him look at me. “What’s wrong?”

I couldn’t read him well enough to know how much exactly he was lying when he replied “Nothing, I’m fine.” I knew he was lying. Something about his expression, the pain in his eyes, made me shelf the potential conversation for now.

“Do you want to go see what they’re serving downstairs?” I asked instead, smiling.

He smiled back and nodded. “Okay.”

Bear

I felt overwhelmed as fuck. There were dozens of questions swirling in my brain. I was quiet as we went to the kitchen slash whatever you’d call it.

There was a dining room and there were maybe thirty people total around. There were all sorts of people, and I didn’t only mean kink-wise. Expression-wise, people of every size and shape and genders or lack thereof.

Luke tugged my hand. “Do you want to sit with the littles or the subs?” He pointed to the two different tables. One was kid-sized but also not in a way that was weird. It took me a moment to figure out it was likely custom furniture.

The subs’ table was a regular one, only in the kitchen instead of the dining room where I could see some Doms sitting already.

I wasn’t sure what to do, even though Shauna was wildly waving at me from the littles’ table.

Then Alyssa appeared out of nowhere and beamed at me. “Will you sit with me, Bear?”

She gestured at the subs’ table, so I nodded. “Okay.”

I felt more comfortable with that one. Something about the littles unsettled me in a weird way.

“You fine going with Alyssa?” Luke asked quietly.

I blinked a couple of times. “Uh… yeah?”

“If you change your mind, just call for me and I’ll be right there, or come find me, okay?” He squeezed my wrist in that comforting way of his and I felt all better.

Nodding, I felt a little choked up at the face of someone caring about me so much.

“There you are,” a deep voice said behind me.

I turned around and saw Master Allen smiling at me. Instinctively, I went to him and hugged him tightly.

His chuckle made his whole body shake, and I rested my cheek on the chest hair that showed from the low collar of his tank top.

“Thank you for sending Luke, Master Allen. Thank you so much.”

He squeezed me. “It’s my pleasure, boy.”

I stepped out of his embrace and to the side as he and Luke greeted each other. Then Lila got there to give Master Allen a hug too.

I was about to go with Alyssa, but Master Allen touched my arm.

“Can I talk to you in private, boy?”
