Page 14 of A Daddy for Bear

She looked around as if she’d genuinely lost Robbie somewhere. She peered around everyone, including Bear who now seemed stunned at her behavior, and then giggled. “There he is! He’s talking to Jamie’s Daddy!” She pointed at the two men who were sitting on a couch by the far wall.

As if Robbie had sensed she was searching for him or maybe just because he liked to keep an eye on Shauna when she was this deep into little mode, he found her with his gaze and gave her a tiny wave. Then he noticed me and nodded, smiling.

Shauna squealed a little in her excitement at having her Daddy wave at her, and then she realized Lila had moved away from us, but Bear was still there.

Instantly, she grabbed my hand and tugged. “Uncle Luke, who’s that?” She pointed at Bear who stood right in front of us.

Bear’s eyes were wide and I could see his Adam’s apple bob as he swallowed. He flicked his gaze from her to me and back.

“Shauna, this is my new friend Bear; Bear, this little girl is Shauna, and that handsome man in the jeans and Jurassic Park T-shirt on the couch is her Daddy, Robbie.”

Shauna barely listened to the introduction. She let go of me, grabbed Bear’s hand and squealed even louder. “Is your name really Bear?”

Shell-shocked, Bear blinked at her. “Uh, yeah, it is.”

“OMG, you gotta meet all my friends who are here!” she started to tug him toward the room to the side where Lila had set up a room for the littles of the community. They could get rowdy while the adults talked if they weren’t suitably entertained.

“Shauna,” I said in my Dom voice, and she immediately stopped.

Her shoulders rose as she turned to look at me.

“Did you ask Bear if hewantedto go with you?”

Her mouth opened into an O and she glanced at him apologetically and dropped his hand. Her bottom lip even wobbled a little.

Somehow, that was the thing that snapped Bear out of his crisis of “what the hell is this?”

“It’s okay, Shauna. You can introduce me to your friends.” He smiled at her hesitantly, offering his hand to her. Then he addressed me. “If that’s fine with you, Sir?”

Instead of telling him it wasn’t my decision, I wasn’t his Dom, I nodded. “I’ll be in this room somewhere, Bear. Have fun. The littles are a lovely bunch.”

Shauna gave me puppy eyes. “I’m sorry, Uncle Luke,” she said, but when I only grinned at her, she giggled and started to lead Bear away again.

I took in a breath and held it as I watched them go. Then Alyssa ran past me on her way downstairs to open the door, and I exhaled and tried to relax.

I went to Robbie and Mal, the other Daddy. Both men were dear friends of mine, but I was closer to Mal than Robbie. I pulled an ottoman closer to the couch and sat on it.

“I see your boy was stolen,” Robbie commented, nodding toward the littles’ room.

I chuckled a bit tiredly. This was going to be a theme today, wasn’t it?

“Not my boy, only a sub I’ve been helping out.”

Mal frowned. “Oh, is he the one Carl had his hooks on?”

I grimaced. “Yeah. He’s so very green despite having some experience.”

“Well, if he is a little, then Carl certainly isn’t the right Dom for him,” Robbie murmured, obviously disgusted.

I couldn’t agree more.

We chatted about random things while the rest of the crew who were attending arrived. Suddenly an outraged shriek came from the littles’ room, and I jerked back to turn toward the doorway.

“Don’t,” Mal said quietly, then nodded to the side.

As I turned my head, I could see that the mirror covering the bottom half of a bar near the wall was angled in such way that it quite clearly showed the reflection of the littles’ room through the open doorway.

“Ah….” It made sense now why these two always chose to sit on this particular couch.
