MONTAUK,N.Y.— A woman’s body was pulled from rough surf near Montauk Point State Park on Tuesday, Suffolk County officials said.The remains are “not readily identifiable,” and authorities would not confirm a connection to Cleo Wilder, daughter of musician Caleb Wilder and actress Clara Vanderpool, missing for weeks.Investigators requested dental records as the Medical Examiner works to establish an identity.A law-enforcement source said Dorian Thoreau, 47, Wilder’s fiancé, is being treated as a suspect.No arrests have been made.

MONTAUK — Suffolk County Police confirmed Tuesday that a woman’s body was recovered off Montauk Point.Officials would not state whether the remains belong to Cleo Wilder, the Manhattan society figure reported missing weeks ago.“Identification will depend on dental comparison,” said Dr.Martin Kessler of the county Medical Examiner’s Office.

Two investigators briefed on the case tell the Sentinel that detectives are focusing on Mr.Dorian Thoreau, Ms.Wilder’s fiancé, as a suspect.Through counsel, Mr.Thoreau said he is “cooperating fully” and “hopes for clarity.”
