“Wow is right.” Harvey echoed my sentiment.
“I’ve never…just wow, oh my God, that was the best sex of my life.” I confessed.
Harvey laughed before kissing my lips. “For me too. I guess they’re right when they say sex is better when you’ve found the right person.”
“I guess so, because holy shit balls.”
Harvey laughed again. “Shit balls?”
“Uh huh.” My eyes slipped shut as Harvey ran his fingers through my hair and down the side of my face. “I’m too tired to cook now. Should we just order takeout?”
“What were you going to make? Maybe I can cook.”
“Steak tips, rice, and asparagus.”
“Seems pretty straightforward. I’d love to cook for you, Lex.” He kissed the tip of my nose.
“You’re the best.”
“No, that’s you.”
“I owe you one. Maybe I’ll cook at your house one night.”
Harvey ran another hand down my hair and face, his thumb tracing my lips and pulling the bottom one down slightly. “What are we going to do about this your house, my house thing?” He searched my eyes.
Move in together.
No, the thought is absurd. It’s too soon. Right? I’m sure Harvey would think so. But I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t thought about it.
“I don’t know. What should we do?”
Harvey pulled me closer and kissed me again before nuzzling his face in my hair. I loved how I perfectly fit right below his head, my cheek pressed against his chest. “I don’t want to scare you away, but…” Harvey whispered before stopping for a breath. “But I’d love for you to move in here. My cabin is big enough, and I’d love to wake up beside you every day.”
He is thinking the same thing I am. He wants to move in together.
But was it too fast? Is anything too fast when it’s the right person?
Harvey hooked a finger under my chin and tipped my head up, looking me in the eye. “Please. If it’s too soon for you, then be honest, okay? I never want to force you into anything you’re not ready for.”
Oh, my man, my sweet, sweet man.
He might’ve been a grump when we first met, but he wasn’t anymore. He was a caring, kind man, a scared one who’d been hurt so many times before that he swore off love forever, and here he was asking me to move in with him.
“I’ll go by your house every night for dinner, if that’s what you’d want. Whatever you’re comfortable with, that’s what I want, Lex. Nothing more, nothing less. Your comfort means everything to me and?—”
I kissed him so he’d stop talking.
“Yes, I’ll move in with you.”
CHAPTER SIX
Harvey
Lex’s apartmentwas on a month-to-month lease, which made it easy for her to tell her landlord she was moving out. She gave a thirty-day notice, but we packed her up and moved her into my place long before that. I offered to pay her last month of rent, but she wouldn’t hear of it. I didn’t mind as long as it meant she was in my bed sooner rather than later.
On her second night of officially living in my cabin, we invited her sister Millie, her nephew Dylan, and her parents over for dinner. I met everyone for the first time.
“I know you! Popcorn guy!” Dylan said when he saw me standing in the kitchen.
