“God?”

“Yes, my child. You have been a valiant warrior for centuries but it’s time for you to move on.”

“Move on? No, I wish to return to the fight.”

“You have done exceptionally, Frida. You have proven your loyalty time and time again. You’ve sacrificed enough, my child. It is time for you to be at peace.”

“Please, I need to go back. I need to help. This war is not over.”

“This war is endless,” he sighs.

“Why is this happening now? I have been brought back many times before.”

“You have more important things ahead, my child.”

My heart races and tears fill my eyes. I’ve lost everything. Sera, Evander… I know what I have to do.

“Save Serafine. Send me back to the fight and save her soul,” I plead. He begins to laugh, and I frown.

“Frida,” someone says and I turn around. She’s here. Well her spirit.

“Sera. I thought I’d never see you again. How?”

“Evander. He freed me.”

“He’s okay?”

She smiles. “Yes, he and Fenrir are fine.”

After Sera fills me in with everything that happened I feel the weight on my heart lift and reluctantly agree.

I’m surrounded by a blinding light that envelopes my soul and then in a flash I come to, with the sound of the woods all around me. I realize that I’m now laying on a bed of soft grass, and I’m not alone.

Chapter 22

Iget lifted off the ground while groaning in pain and see that it’s Beelzebub, who swiftly runs me back to Hell’s gate. “What the fuck happened?” I cry out.

“Michael happened,” he shouts as we pass into Hell and drops with me to the floor.

“I’ve heard he was strong, but that’s not just strong, that was biblical levels of wrath,” I retort.

I wince, getting to my feet. The severe stinging paincovers my whole body from Michael’s attack. Slowly walking further into Hell, Beelzebub mutters through agony. “We need to tell Lucifer what happened.”

Looking back I see he has deep slashes across his body and is missing his hand.

How is Michael that strong? Beelzebub is one of the strongest beings in Hell and didn’t stand a chance against Michael’s fury.

We work our way to the Counsel of the Fallen chamber. When we open the doors I see Abaddon sitting with her feet up on the table.

“What happened to you two?” she asks.

“Go now summon Lord Luci,” Beelzebub starts.

“I’m already here,” Lucifer cuts him off. “I see you had a run in with my brother Michael,” he snickers.

“Yes, my Lord, right as we were about to kill Evander, Michael appeared and completely decimated us,” Beelzebub groans through gurgling bloody coughs.

A sinister presence enters the room behind Lucifer. A black mist flows through the space, emanating from a thirteen-foot-tall, muscular creature with long, wide jagged black horns and fiery red skin.
