“Yes, if it’s true that Beelzebub is still alive, then we need him prepared faster, grab one of the Leviathans,” Michael commands.

Nodding Raphael walks off to the holding cells beneath the pit.

Standing there I notice the gate that released Sloth is now closed.

Leviathan, what the fuck is that?

The gate is smashed open and a monstrous twenty-foot-tall creature steps through.

Before me is a hulking, pitch black hybrid of a crocodile and a bull, with long, razor sharp claws, and bloodied steelhooves. Its head is adorned with a bloody bone helmet that highlights its horns and a long distorted maw.

Well that answers that.

“Don’t take this lightly, Evander, this is a Leviathan, one of the beasts commanded directly by Lucifer and Satan,” Michael informs. “They rival the strength of the Knights of Hell and there has not been a Lycan yet that has been able to injure one, let alone kill. With your light though you are different, and I believe you can destroy it. Prove me right.”

It begins to lumber toward me, each step it takes sends tremors through the ground.

“We need to run,” Fenrir shouts with fear in his voice. He’s unsettled.

“Calm down, what are you so afraid of?”

“The last human I was bonded to was killed by that fucking thing and I can still feel the pain, from when it ripped us apart.”He quivers.

“We’ve got this. Trust me. When we are through with this thing nothing will stand in our way to freeing Frida and Serafine. But I need you to pull it together. I can’t do this without you.”

“Okay, let’s kill this fucking thing. For Serafine,”Fenrir replies with the strength returning in his voice.

Just then it swings at us. I manage to throw my hands up in time to catch its fist that’s as big as we are, but it’s so powerful we are crushed into the wall anyway. At the last second, I feel Fenrir’s power and manage to quickly gather enough power that just as our back hits the wall I notice I can now push back a little, saving us.

“Thank you, Fenrir, I’ll take it from here.”

Reaching deep, I let out a powerful yell that sounds more like a thunderous roar and push back with all of my strength, forcing the Leviathan back to the center of the pit. Digging my claws into its hand, I push with my left and pull with my right, severing one of its fingers, then throw it to the ground.

It bellows out in pain and tries to grab me with his other hand. Ducking and avoiding the grab, I dig my claws into its left leg repeatedly, while rapidly climbing to its head. Just as I reach its shoulder I’m swatted off, sending me bouncing and rolling across the floor.

Spinning back to my feet, I dig my nails and claws into the ground and flare my wings, sliding to a stop. I lunge back, only to be met with its bloodied open hand, as it grabs me, attempting to crush me. Using my claws, I shred the inside of its hand and it drops me. A deep bellowing growling reverberates from my chest as if to sayI’m going to fucking kill you.

Jumping at it, I drive my claws into its gut, tearing and ripping with everything I have. It bites at me, just missing my shoulders and head. As it tries to bite me again, I dig my right claws into its lower jaw.

Throwing its head up, it sends me to the bars at the top of the pit. Grabbing the bars, I swing my feet up, locking myself to the cage with my claws. Now crouching, I look back at the Leviathan, tensing every muscle I have and lunge so hard that I bend the bars.

My left claws dig deep into its right shoulder, slashing all the way down to its hip. Quickly kicking off of his leg, I free my claws and jump away as it falls to the ground.

Let’s see if this works.

I let my divine power flow from my wings into my arms and as it reaches my claws, I force it to stop. As I do this my claws glow with a brilliant white light.Hopefully, this works like I believe it will.

Running up to the Leviathan, as it’s attempting to get up, I slash at its leg and as I do this the wound turns brittle, then to ash. The Leviathan cries out in pain and swipes at me, desperately. I move out of the way and strike its forearm next.

The same thing happens and the limb begins to turn to ash. The smell of fear now lingers in the air as the Leviathan tries to flee from me. As it turns, I dig my claws into its back over and over as I climb to its head.

With a thunderous roar, I smash both of my claws through the bone helmet and into its skull. The Leviathan lets out a pitiful cry that fades to a high pitched whine, before it too falls to ash.

As I shift back and fall to the ground in exhaustion, I hear clapping.

“Well done, Evander, well done. That was a creative way to utilize your power,” Michael says with a hint of pride in his voice.

“Rest for a bit, because we have a lot more training to conduct.”
