He moved deeper, and a jolt tore through me – sharp, sudden, and way too much all at once. My whole body arched, a quiet sound catching at the back of my throat before I could stop it.

He froze for a second. Then I felt the slow curl of a smirk against my cheek. "Oh."

I glared at him. "Don't."

He let out a quiet, knowing sound that almost felt like a laugh. Clearly too pleased with himself, he brushed a kiss to my jaw, then slowly rolled his hips. He was testing now.

A sharp breath punched out of me when he hit the same spot. Heat shot down my spine, and I barely choked back a curse.

“There it is.” He leaned in with that cocky grin of his, his voice warm against my ear. "I think I can coax another one out of you."

A full-body shiver ran through me. Anticipation left me breathless and aching for whatever he had planned. I could already feel my body responding to just the suggestion, wound tight and ready for more.

He eased back and pulled out with a gentleness that left me trembling. The sudden emptiness sent a flicker of confusion through me, but it faded as quickly as it came. He leaned in and kissed me, and I gave right into it. Whatever he was about to do, I trusted him completely.

Barely breaking the kiss, he murmured against my lips, "Turn over for me."

I did, and he stayed right with me. His hands guided me gently into place as his lips brushed my shoulder, then down the back of my neck, each kiss slow and steady. The warmth of him never left and kept the heat simmering just below the surface.

When my glasses suddenly slipped down my nose, I let out an irritated huff. Ofcoursethey would do this now. I pulled them off and tossed them blindly onto the nightstand. Everything around me blurred, but I didn't care. I didn't need to see. Eli was the only thing I needed to feel.

He ran his hands slowly down my back, calm and deliberate. One arm slipped beneath my hips to lift me up toward him. The other wrapped under my chest, holding me against him as he lined us up again and eased back in.

I couldn't hold back a sharp gasp. The angle hit deeper and sharper than before. He gave me time to feel the stretch of him while his hands roamed in slow, soothing passes that only made the burn sweeter. My breath started to come fast, my muscles tight and twitching under the pressure.

Then he pulled back, just a little bit, and thrust in again. The choked whimper that tore out of me wasn't graceful, but Icouldn't help it.

I pressed my face into the pillow and squeezed my eyes shut as my whole body tensed at the sheer intensity of it. He kept it slow at first, easing into a pace that knocked the air out of me all over again. Each movement wound me tighter. I was already too far gone to pretend I had any control left.

His lips brushed against my ear, sending a shiver straight down my spine. "Yeah?"

I gripped the sheets like they might keep me from coming apart. I couldn't form any words that made sense enough to answer him. My mind was tangled up in how he somehow knew exactly what I needed before I did.

I tried to push back to meet him halfway, but he caught on immediately. His grip around my hips tightened to keep me exactly where he wanted me. My breath tore out in short, uneven gasps as the heat wound tighter inside me, rising too fast for me to keep up.

"You can relax, Ro," he whispered. "I've got you." He lifted me slightly to change the angle, and –

OH, fuck.

The next sound that broke loose from me was raw. Immediate. The pressure hit even sharper and knocked every thought out of my head. The rush was too overwhelming to brace against. I barely managed to breathe as it crashed through me.

My brain couldn't hold on to anything solid after that. Everything slipped loose before I could latch onto it. Every time I thought I could focus on something, Eli would shift – and it was gone again, replaced by the next shock of sensation.

He was drawing it out this time. Every movement felt deliberate, each grind of his hips pulling me apart and holding me together at the same time. I couldn't decide if I wanted to beg him to finish it or beg him to never stop.

I drew in a breath and let it go slowly. Burying my facedeeper into the sheets, I gave in to the feeling completely. I let myself feel every inch of it.

I tried more than once to speak, but all I could do was breathe through it. All I could do was take it. His hands kept moving, trailing heat wherever they landed. And just when I thought I'd found my footing, he stole it right back.

My body started to tense again. He must have felt it because his hold around me tightened and he nuzzled the back of my neck. "Not yet."

My breath stuttered. Not yet?

Shit. I was in trouble.

He steadied me with both arms, and the next roll of his hips sent a sharp wave of heat straight through me. The moan that tore from my throat was louder this time, ragged and unrestrained. It triggered an inconvenient thought that clawed its way through the fog clouding my brain.

The neighbours.
