“The others,” I croak, hoping I’m right.

“They’re safe. Joshua knew something was wrong when I took off without telling him and refused his calls. I knew he’d jump to the right conclusion. We had suspicions it was a trap, and my taking off confirmed it. J knows the only reason I would ever leave him without a word is because something had happened to you. Like he knows if something had happened to you it was because of Cruz.”

“Caleb.” Panic jumps up and bites me. “You didn’t tell him?! My dad might’ve been on that plane! Your dad too!”

“Elisa, calm down.” He clasps my face in his hands. “I couldn’t risk calling him because Cruz threatened me. I wasn’t about to risk your life especially when I knew my brother would figure it out. Trust our freaky twin bond. My brother is alive, and I know he got everyone off that plane in time. If Joshua was dead, I would know it.” He thumps his hand over his heart. “I’d feel it in here. Trust me, J is on his way now to rescue us.”

I rub the back of my neck. “Thank God, they didn’t know about the new tracking chips.”

He grins. “We were right to keep that news a closely guarded secret.”

“So, what now?” I ask, shivering as I glance around the chilly cell. I spare no more than a passing glance at the two dead assholes on the floor. They got what was coming to them.

Caleb swats my ass and reclaims my attention. “You remember the last time I stood before you covered in blood?” He arches a brow as his pupils darken.

Lust coils low in my belly as I quickly catch on. “Oh, yes, baby. You’re on,” I say, bending down to remove the last tie on my leg.

“I’m not sure how gentle I can be,” Caleb says, pushing me up against the wall as his fingers find their way into my panties.

“I’m not sure how gentle I want you to be,” I reply over a gasp as he plunges two fingers deep inside me.

“I think we’re compatible in more ways than one,” he admits over a wicked grin.

I part my legs and push my chest into his as he pumps his fingers in and out of me in a punishing pace. “Only one way to find out, my love,” I say, shoving his boxers down and gripping his solid erection.

Epilogue

Elisa – Six Months Later

“You look beautiful,” Dad says with tears in his eyes. “Too good for that punk.” It’s said in jest, but I’m not sure he’s fully forgiven Caleb for what he walked in on that day when he showed up with Joshua and a team of men to rescue us from the dungeon Cruz and Anais had locked us in. They burst into the room, all guns blazing, to discover Caleb and me fucking in the blood of our enemies.

That story is now legendary inmafiosocircles, and no one refers to me as the little virgin anymore.

Dad almost killed Caleb, but Joshua managed to wrangle the gun out of his hand before he could pull the trigger.

It was fun times, for sure.

“I love him.” I know I have a dreamy look on my face, like always when I think of my fiancé. Caleb took me to Paris for my twenty-third birthday and proposed in front of the Eiffel Tower, exactly how I had drawn it all those years before. It’s just one memory, in a long list of memories, I will cherish until the day I die. “I adore him, and I can’t wait to start a family with him.” My hand gravitates to my stomach, and I smile at the secret I’m carrying. No one knows yet, including Caleb. It’s going to be his wedding gift, and I’ll tell him after the ceremony.

“You’re truly happy, honey?” Dad asks, scrutinizing my face for any signs of cold feet.

“Incredibly so.” I take his hands. “You don’t need to worry. He treats me like a queen, Dad. I have never felt more loved or cherished.”

“I see that. I just had to make sure. I know I bust his balls, but it’s mostly for fun. He’s a good partner, and he’ll make a good husband and father. I wouldn’t have given my permission when he came to see me otherwise.”

“I’m honestly surprised you didn’t try to shoot him again. It wasn’t even that long after?—”

“Let’s not go there, Elisa. I worked hard to scrub that awful image from my brain.”

I burst out laughing, but Dad isn’t even mildly amused.

“I fail to see the humor. No father should have to witness that.”

“You didn’t actually see me naked or?—”

“I saw his naked butt as he was driving into you, and that was enough to scar me for life, trust me.”

“Aw, Daddy.” I place my hands on his chest and smile. “You’d swear you never had sex.”
