“Do you need to unwind for a minute? You’ve been running around all night. You must be
exhausted.” Theron asked, already crossing the room to Sam. I glanced at Levi, who smirked back at
me. It seemed we now knew why Theron hung around all night rather than sulking out the way he
usually did when he didn’t find anyone to dote on. “I bet the boys wouldn’t mind playing for a few
more minutes.”
Sam shook his head. “Thank you, Sir, but I have too much work left to do.”
Theron plowed ahead, slipping a hand around to the small of Sam’s back. “Let us worry about
that, boy. You need to sit down before you fall over.”
I watched as Theron led Sam deeper into the playroom. It seemed we weren’t alone in noticing
the close attention he paid the boy. Corey cocked his head to the side, one eyebrow lifting in
confusion before he smiled, patting the seat next to him. He and Teo quickly drew Sam into the fold,
sliding a coloring book and some crayons his direction.
With my boy content, I led my friends out of the room so we could clean up and everyone could
head home for some well-earned rest.
It didn’t take long to get the club in order. Our crowds were never rowdy and typically picked up
after themselves. It was part of the nature of the beast, so to speak. For many, this was a home away
from home, a place they were able to be themselves. Theron reluctantly made his departure when the
only thing left was counting money, but not before having a hushed conversation with Sam, who then
walked him to the door.
“Sam likes him,” Corey confessed as he curled around my body.
“I’m pretty sure the feeling is mutual,” I responded before tipping Corey’s head back to kiss him.
“Sam’s a good kid, and I’m happy to see him letting someone get close.”
“He let you help him tonight,” Corey pointed out, not sounding thrilled by the memory. My boy
was definitely jealous.
“Very true, but I have my hands full with you. Even if I was interested in pursuing anything with
Sam, I wouldn’t do that to you.”
“You don’t owe me anything. If you’re interested in him—” I cut him off before he could finish
that statement. No matter how scared he was of what was growing between us, he was not going to
push me away.
I stepped in front of Corey, digging my fingertips into his hips. “Listen to me, boy. I chose you.
