vacation to find me playing with two of his best employees. It was going to be enough trying to
explain the one, if I could get Corey to agree.
“The two of you look like you could sleep for a day and still be exhausted,” I observed. Sam
looked up at me with those innocent eyes, and I nearly melted. Fuck, what was coming over me? Then
Corey glanced up, and I was a fucking goner. I checked the time on my watch. We still had almost an
hour until anyone else would be here. “Come on, you two. You’ll be no good to anyone in the state
you’re in now.”
I groaned as I stood, my knees crackling like rice cereal. When I held out my hands to them, Corey
tentatively placed his in mine. He might not want to acknowledge what was growing between us, but
no longer denying it was a step in the right direction. Sam, on the other hand, seemed more confused

Corey’s body swayed against mine when I pulled him close. He pressed a hand to my chest, and I
was sure he’d feel my heart racing. Was this what his surrender looked like? Could it be this simple?
“You won’t let us rest too long, right?”
“Of course not, sweetheart.” I pressed my lips to his forehead, smiling when he hummed softly.
“Both of you have been working hard. It’s time to recharge before the big night.”
Sam watched the two of us warily. He swallowed hard when our eyes met.
“If you don’t want to, you’re free to say no, Sam,” I promised, even though I knew that wasn’t his
issue at all. In his mind, Corey and I were already together, and he didn’t want to jeopardize that.
Lucky for him, I was a firm believer that physical closeness—even sex—could be separated from a
relationship, not that Corey and I were anywhere near that point.
“It’s…” Sam didn’t finish his thought as I led both boys to a full-size bed decked out in bedding
any little boy would love to have. I pulled the superheroes comforter back, patting the mattress. When
I quirked an eyebrow at Sam, he offered me a shy smile. “This is really okay?”
“Yeah, buddy. It’s fine,” I reassured him as I combed my fingers through his hair. Corey sat on the
