simplest explanations. “I’d bet if you asked every man who walks through the doors tonight, at least

half of them would tell you they had the same experience.”

“Yeah, but then they’d tell me how they had to force themselves to not check out guys in the locker

room. That wasn’t me, either.” Sam sniffled, and I hoped like hell he wasn’t about to have a

breakdown. That was something we didn’t have time for, and I wasn’t equipped to help him through.

“I can’t explain it. I know I want something. I want to have sex. I want to be with someone, but when I

look at people, nothing happens, if you get what I mean.”

I hugged Sam tighter. One of these days, he’d figure it out.

“Do you want someone to love you, Corey?” Sam’s question was barely more than a whisper, yet

it echoed in my head as though he’d shouted it across the room. He rolled onto his stomach; one leg

draped over mine. If someone walked in right now, they’d probably think we were seconds away

from face fucking one another with our tongues. But this wasn’t about that. Sam stared at me long

enough it became uncomfortable. “You don’t have to be alone. I know you have a lot going on, but

there are men out there who wouldn’t hold it against you if you can’t devote all your time to them. He

could help you if you just let him, and he’d understand.”

I wanted to be angry with Sam for pushing the subject, but I wasn’t. In his own way, he was trying

to be a friend. It was funny how daft he could be about his own needs, yet when it came to anyone

else, he noticed the smallest details. In a different life, he’d be right; William was someone I could

trust.

It scared the hell out of me that I was slowly forgetting the reasons chemistry and aligned kinks

weren’t enough.

WILLIAM

“I KNOW YOU HAVE A LOT GOING ON, BUT THERE ARE MEN OUT THERE WHO WOULDN’T HOLD IT AGAINST

you if you can’t devote all your time to them. He could help you if you just let him, and he’d

understand.”

I felt more like a creeper standing outside the playroom listening to Sam and Corey’s

conversation, than I ever had when watching a Dom fuck the sense out of his sub. It was wrong,

eavesdropping when they thought they were alone in the club. When I’d stepped into the main room

and noticed a light on in the playroom, I gravitated toward it since Corey’s car was parked out back
