“Give me a fucking break. It happened on Cole’s birthday.”
“Shit, I’m sorry, Art. I forgot about his birthday.”
“I’m sure you’re not the only one.” My gaze settles on my red-faced grandfather. “Now if there’s nothing else…”
“There is,” Ricky says.
“Oh goody.”
He pulls my razor from his pocket. “We know you’ve been cutting yourself.”
“How can you mutilate yourself like some deranged lunatic?” the old man shouts.
The cuts have healed. Still, there would be no mistaking how the scars happened.
“Who told you?”
“It doesn’t matter,” Ricky answers.
The only person who knew about my cutting and what happened on Cole’s birthday is Cin. Would she have told the secrets she promised to keep? The changes in her behavior are beginning to add up. She didn’t seem thrilled about me going to California. I rush from the room.
“Cin!” I shout, storming up the stairs.
She stabbed me in the fucking back. I want her to look into my eyes and admit her betrayal.
Ricky and the old man race behind me. Josh and Trevor step into the hall as I reach the top of the stairs.
“What the hell are you doing?” Ricky grasps my arm.
I jerk from his hold and glance to the left when I see a door opening. There she is, the girl who ripped my heart in half, standing beside her mother. Cin’s face and eyes are puffy. It’s clear she’s been crying.
“You fucking betrayed me!”
“I didn’t.” Cin cautiously walks towards me.
“Stay away from him,” Missy says.
“Mom, it’s okay.”
“Don’t fucking lie to me!” I yell in her face.
“Get the fuck away from her,” Trevor growls.
“Are you going to make me?”
“Yeah.”
I wave him over. “It’s about time I fucked you up, anyway.”
“Josh, take Trevor to your room,” Ricky says.
“Do you want to know why Cin left you?” I ask.
“Please don’t do this,” Cin begs.
“I’ve been swimming in her pussy almost every night like it’s a fucking ocean for months, even when she bled between her damn legs. You wouldn’t know anything about that, would you? Bloody pussy is for big boys.” My dark soul sings in triumph at the stricken look on his face.
“Tell me he’s lying,” Trevor says.
