His thumb brushed over my throbbing vein and my insides twisted of their own accord.Sometimes being in his presence was damn near overwhelming.

“But I did,” I whispered.“And now I must find a way to smooth things over.I must ask for his forgiveness.A clean slate.”

“Desmond is adark fae.He does not deserve?—”

“Everyone deserves a second chance, Bane,” I said, licking my lips.I gazed up at his dark eyes, searching them for the embers, the sparks.“You of all people know that,” I whispered, reminding him it was not all that long ago that he was searching for the same thing.

He let out a heavy sigh as he kissed me.“I do not deserve you,” he whispered.“You are too good for me, my little spark.”

I grinned against his lips as the lust bloomed in my belly.I slid over his lap, straddling his hips as I pulled him closer, kissing him with adamant fervor. His tongue sliding into my mouth was a relief that was as palpable as it was desirable.

“I will be the judge of that, my little bat.”

CHAPTER8

Bane

The moment Violet kissed me,everything else faded away because I swore, every time was like the first time all over again. The chills, the blood rush, the way my cock awakened, and her jolts of magic spread through me like a rapid fire.

I groaned into her mouth, resting my fingers on her jaw.I settled my free hand on her hip, just over the expanse of skin exposed from beneath her pyjama top, relishing in the warmth against my palm. Her skin was so smooth and warm and my monster beckoned to be set free from the touch.I focused on keeping him in, though. He’d already shown himself once, and that hadn’t gone so well.In fact, it had gone terribly.

What were the odds the Dark Fae Prince was also anincubuslike me?

Violet must have felt me tense beneath her.She pulled away for a moment, looking me in the eyes.

I gazed at her crystal blue ones, pushing away the awful thoughts that plagued me.

“What’s wrong?”she asked, concern lacing her pretty blue eyes. Her eyebrows furrowed.

“Nothing,” I said, because it was true. When I looked at her, nothing else mattered.

She slid her hand down my chest and I could feel the heat seeping through my skin. Her magic danced, igniting the flames that lived within me.

Ambi-magicked.

Not only was Desmond an incubus and a prince, but he was ambi-magicked.I’d never met anyone who could wield two elements before.

Gods, could the guy have been more perfect?

“Answer me honestly,” she said, her hand settling over my right pec.

“Of course,” I said, dipping my gaze to her lips.

“Are you jealous of Desmond?”she asked, shifting her weight on top of me.

I dropped my hand from her face, wrapping it around her waist.I leaned in to kiss her, but she pulled back only slightly. My monster pushed against the surface.

“Answer me, Bane.”

“I do not want to talk about Desmond O’Neil when I have you in my lap,” I muttered and she regarded me with a stern gaze.

“Then perhaps I should not be in your lap,” she said, her expression some mix of angry and cute. She moved to extricate herself and I groaned, grabbing her wrist.

“Violet, please...”I pulled her back into my lap and buried my face in her neck, breathing in her floral scent.Whatever shampoo and shower gel the castle provided made her smell divine.

“Bane...”

“Can you blame me?”I asked, grazing my lips over her neck.
