He gathered my hair and slid it over my shoulder.

The sunlight filtered through the window as I turned around and got a good look at him.

His gaze roved over me and he smiled.“Red looks good on you.”

My own gaze traveled over his stunning suit. All black, of course, save for his bright, candy apple red tie.

“You don’t clean up so bad yourself,” I told him, my stomach in knots.I felt the call in my being to come home.Like a beacon, Heaven called me.

I straightened his tie, letting my fingers slide over the satin.

“No matter what happens...”he said, and I saw the pain etched in his gaze. His voice cracked.

I leaned up and kissed him one last time.“I know,” I whispered to him.

He swallowed harshly, taking my hand.

The walk outside to the parking lot felt like an eternity itself.

Waiting in the center were two figures.

A demon and an angel.

Matthew appraised me with a look that was extremely judgmental. He twisted his lips, sneering at me.

“Interesting choice in fashion,” he muttered.

Roche smirked, looking at me, then at Endor.“I think she looks sexy as hell.”

Matthew shot her a glare.“Precisely.She is an angel, not a succubus.”

Roche only rolled her eyes, casting me a smile.“Angels.Am I right?”

I couldn’t help but laugh as Endor squeezed my hand, and I realized he’d never let go.

I stood before my boss, holding a demon’s hand.

And I had never felt stronger.

“Come on, sinners,” Roche said as she flexed her own black wings.

I didn’t think succubihadwings.

That’s new...

Matthew’s wings flexed on cue as light poured from the sky.

Roche was the first to take off, Matthew following suit.

Endor reached for me once more, and I grabbed his hand as we both ascended.

Together until the end.
