“She presents a threat to our mission, and she has since the moment she showed up.”

I could hear the anger in her voice, but there was something else.

Jealousy, perhaps?

“I am not worried about theangel,” I said.

And in truth, I wasn’t.She was a thorn in my side, a nuisance at best.

But she was helpful, at times, and her suggestion about how to rescue Mercy was actually...not entirely dumb.

“Then it shouldn’t be any sweat off your back if I asked you to give her...”

I watched as she pulled out a small vial, full of bright red liquid.

“This,” she said, holding it before me.

I took the vial from her, turning it in the light.

“What is it?”I asked curiously.

“It’s a potion that will curb our angelic pest’s borrowed godly powers.”

“Why would I want to curb them? They could be useful,” I said.

Roche rolled her eyes.

“Youare supposed to be the hero in Mercy’s story, Endor. For God’s sake, you’re already halfway there. It’s apparent the girl admires you.Without the angel interfering, I am more than certain she will cast her soul to us.”

Understanding dawned on me.

“So you want me to eliminate the angel from the equation?Give myself a more solid shot?”

Roche nodded.“Sexy, and smart. What a delicious combination. And as...agenerousthank you for your...loyalty,” she purred, twirling the vial in her hand.

I reached out and took the vial.It was light in my hand.

How something so small could wreck so much havoc.

“Management asked me to give you this,” she said, pulling me closer, flush against her.

Her lips crushed mine roughly, a jolt of electricity coursing through them.My cock stood at attention, as the jolt seized my body, making me warm, making my wings flutter beneath the surface.

The power feltgood.

I hadn’t realized how weak I felt, until this moment.Even though it wasn’t what it was before—when I’d first gotten my wings—it was enough to make me buckle under her kiss.I forced my tongue into her mouth, trying to latch on the sweet power she fed me, but she only pulled away.

“There is more where that came from, but first,” she cooed.“First, you be a good little office demon and make good on our deal. And I will make good on mine.”

“And if I don’t?”I asked, feeling a sense of guilt.Even as we spoke, I could feel the power in me ricocheting back and forth, trying to take hold. But it was already fading.

No, no, no...

Please...stay with me!

Sure the angel was a thorn in my side, but did my boss truly believe we were that incapable of enticing Mercy on our own?

That unless I poisoned her, there was no chance for us to win?
