Violet kissed me lightly, a grin spreading over her lips.
“Yes, perhaps we should,” I said with a grin of my own.
CHAPTER21
Three weeks later...
Violet
Bane’s lipsmoved over my neck furiously as I melted against his hold. His hand slid over my arse as he pulled me closer, grinding his hardness against me.
My legs straddled him, and I had to remember to breathe.
“You are so beautiful,” he murmured in my ear as he trailed his hands along my curves, cupping my arse.
I swallowed, feeling slightly self-conscious that I was surely going to crush him from our cramped position on my small dorm bed.
“Are you all right?” he asked, relaxing his hold from the possessive, firm touch to something gentler. He ran his hand over my thighs, the exposed skin lighting up with heat where he touched me.
“I’m fine, I just—”
He pulled away, his dark eyes catching my gaze.
“I should be asking you the same thing,” I said as I squirmed a bit in his lap.
“I am more than all right.” He smirked as he thrust himself against me.
“But you are not, something is on your mind. Tell me,” he said as he kissed my neck, making it hard to focus.
While I was more than ecstatic to explore the uncharted forest that was Bane Locke, I still felt like something was missing.
A piece of the puzzle still lay unsolved.
Despite the fact I’d beenawakenedand dealing with a new surge of power, it seemed like the world around me was just the same. A part of me thought that maybe someone would have noticed, that my influx of magic should have been an alarm, or... something.
But even Professor O’Connor didn’t seem all that interested in my magical growth spurt. Though he’d attributed my newfound magic to myFae roots—which evidently he favored the idea the runes awakened me—and I could not tell him the source of my true power.
Or the creature who’d sparked the fire, no less.
The forest called me home, but so did Bane.
I leaned my head back in wonder as his fiery touch stirred a hurricane within me, my gaze fixed on the ceiling for a moment as I pondered if I should say something. But it was crazy to be fussing over something I couldn’t even articulate myself, so instead, I just closed my eyes and focused on the things I knew.
“I’m just... worried we’re going to be caught,” I said, crushing my lips against his. The sound of hisdesireas he moaned into my mouth sparked my magic beneath the surface.
It wasn’t a lie. I did worry my luck would take a turn and Delaney would walk through the door to get an eyeful of Bane’s monster dick, or worse.
An eyeful ofmewith Bane’s monster dick...
As if he could read my thoughts, he smirked.
“Let them catch us,” he said as he ran his hands along my hips, over the backs of my legs.
He tugged me closer, shifting my body upward.
I let out a breath as his fingertips traced my skin, causing the magic within me to brew like a witch’s cauldron, my blood heating as if he controlled the fire within me as well as the one between us.
I knew the chances of Delaney coming back at this time were slim, since I knew her schedule, but a part of me still felt wrong about the two of us sneaking around like criminals or something.
