“You’re not going in there are you...” he asked as he looked at the water.
She continued her strip as she spoke.
“That all the stories were true. The ones that talked about Gods and Goddesses. All of them. Greek, Roman, Norse... that all of the legends and myths are true and they exist just as you do.”
Brian’s gaze settled on her and she could see in his eyes a burgeoning curiosity.
“I’d say I’m not surprised. I’ve always believed in them.”
She walked up to him, naked, reaching out for his neck, her fingernails teasing the edges of his hair as she fixed her gaze on him.
“Promise me one thing, my little flower.”
Brian settled his palm on her hip, his fingers brushing along her skin with tenderness.
“Anything, Athena.” The way in which he said her name was like a prayer that lit up her insides. His words were profound, like a sworn allegiance, and she knew in her heart this was it.
The moment everything would change.
“Promise me that my secrets are safe with you,” she whispered against his lips.
Brian slid his other arm around her waist, pulling her flush against him.
She could feel the hardness of his arousal against her warm flesh, and she had to fight to focus.
Brian kissed her the lightest, featherweight kiss as he whispered back
“I promise.”
His words were the freedom she needed as she fell into his kiss, her animal rising to the surface. Though she did not wish to shift entirely, she only wanted to stretch her wings and hold onto the librarian who’d undoubtedly destroyed her walls with nothing more than touch, understanding, and strength.
The walls she’d constructed crumbled as her wings expanded, curling themselves around him, her feathers brushing along his back. She could feel his lips turn up in a smile as he removed his hands from her sides and instead put them on her face, pulling her into a kiss that never wanted to end.
It was full of wonder, of awe, and love.
It was impossible to fall in love with a man in the course of forty-eight hours, but here they were.
Here they were.
When he broke away and looked at her, smoothing her hair behind her ear, he smiled at her, the sight pulling her under like the waves that brushed her ankles.
“So that’s how we ended up in your apartment,” he said with a smirk, his gaze flicking to the tops of her wings at her shoulder.
“You knew?” she asked.
Brian looked at the spot where her skin began and her wing sprouted free.
“May I?” he asked, his hand hovering there.
She nodded.
“Please,” she asked, sliding her hands over his chest.
His cock twitched against her and she had to press her warm thighs together.
Now is not the time...
Brian ran his finger gently over one of her feathers, the touch sending a shiver through her body, directly to her groin.
