The whole room went silent.
The silence was broken when Roman voiced what he knew, “He is a very well known assassin.He hasn’t been heard of for a couple of years.But before he disappeared, his was the name you only whispered in alleyways and even then you didn’t whisper it too loud.”
“Da.”Sergi nodded.“I do know this.However, as most of you know, he doesn’t operate for himself anymore.He has a group and they do many things that aren’t known to the public.These things have saved many lives.Leon Vincinti filled me in on a few of those incidents.Bane’s not only very real, but he struck me as an honest man.I met him and his brothers a few times in New York and he was always a help to us there.Plus, he knows how this man Killian thinks and how he will act.He is very familiar with the man in fact.He had said that Killian is out of control and needs to be put down.I happen to believe that Bane is the one man who can do that.”
The people in the room listened.
Nicky and Serenity nodded at him as they were very familiar with Bane.
Sergi turned his head and stared at Viktor.“You Enforcers are very good at what you do, the Ghosts as well.Hell, this whole team is very good at what you do, but this is a man we know nothing about.He is a barbaric killer with no compassion and no moral code in his body.He bought a bioweapon of all things.That is the sign of a blackhearted man.To combat a man like that we need to know what’s going inside his head.We are only guessing here and I’d rather not make the wrong assumption, not when it could kill one or more of us.Then with LaDonna and Dominic in this it is even worse.They both have too much to lose on one hand and on the other, I’m not willing to be shot by a killer when I don’t have to be.”He looked around the room.“Each of us is very much needed to continue on with our mission.We are all Bratva, again that should be enough to carry on but we all have too much left to do to risk our lives to a man with a short circuit in his brain.All of you have to admit that the kind of man it takes to line up a mark and squeeze that trigger is a man we do not understand.So, I called someone who knows more about the kind of man coming for us.Or for the prisoner we hold.”
Viktor just shook his head.“Da, I understand.I admit we have no understanding of what’s going through Killian’s mind.I saw Mr.Jessin briefly in New York, even though it was the woman Faith that we worked with closely and that is a subject I will not speak about.”
Nicky and Serenity snickered a bit.They both knew about the below-ground experience with Mr.White.It all had been astounding but exciting too.
Yuri and Roman looked over at them.Then both men looked at Viktor again.Their expressions looked curious.They hadn’t witnessed this story although they had heard about it.
Viktor slowly shook his head.“I would tell you the details, but then you all would call in a psychiatrist for sure.”
Sergi laughed.“Yes, we all experienced some odd things that day.I am still unsure about how she was doing it, but she isn’t your average um...human.However, Faith has done some things that can never be paid back.Like we all missed the end of the world for one thing.And she is why I still have my Anita in fact.To me those 2 subjects are the same though.”
Kosta snapped his head up and asked, “Wait, is that the woman that Kirill told me about?”
Sergi looked over at him.“Da, she has unusual abilities.”He went on to describe what happened when an evil man set a bomb to go off to kill them all.
Downtown New York, Five months ago...
Viktor was monitoring the tunnels with bodycam footage from his men as everyone at Nikoli’s hotel watched it on the screens.
“Mr.White?”Bane spoke into his comm.
“Yes, and it is an honor to...meet you all.Especially you,Faith.”
Dante growled as he held her tight in his arms.
“Where is he?”Sergi asked over the comm.
“Oh, I am miles away,” Mr.White replied with a smirk in his voice.
Faith moved out of Dante’s arms.“We need to leave...RIGHT.NOW!
They all stared at her.
“RUN!”Faith screamed at them.
Mr.White’s laughter came over the comm.“Oh my, you are THE soldier, Faith!You already know about my final conquest, don’t you?”
The group all took off down the tunnel.
“The countdown begins,” Mr.White’s voice came over a loudspeaker.“Ten, nine, eight...”
Faith then disappeared with Dante.And immediately appeared again.“Grab onto me!”she called out to Sheba and Ari.
They grabbed her arms.
“All of you grab the girls!”Faith shouted.
Some had to halt their running as they skidded into each other.
