“Ever play Guess Who?”

CHAPTER 20

THIS IS A REALLY BAD IDEA

MAJOR

Iam definitely getting fired over this.

Surprisingly, I’m less concerned about that and more curious about Abby’s response. And by the looks of it, Jasper and Wade are in the same boat as I am. Breath held, unblinking.

I swallow the lump in my throat wishing it would take my nerves with it as I stare silently at Abby also wishing she would have said something by now.

Jasper looks confident and sure of himself. Wade looks like he might vomit.

Nothing more needs to be said about what playingGuess Whowith a bandana and rope might mean. I carefully observe Abby as she runs her fingers over the tight material of the rope and soft fabric of the bandana and with how delayed her response time is, I'm thinking I need to step in and redirect this conversation elsewhere.

This is a lot. We are a lot and I want her to feel comfortable here. I don’t want her to feel pressured into playing a game that puts her in a compromising position.

Albeit, a fucking sexy one.

Her blindfolded, tied with her hands behind her back as we take turns kissing her, touching her, pleasing her. My cock stirs behind my pants for the…I pause, because I’ve lost count how many times I felt my dick whiz to life since Abby showed up here.

It’s been more today than it has been in the past month…well months. That’s an embarrassing fact, but unfortunately a true one. It has been areallylong time since my body has physically responded to any woman.

And speaking of too long, Abby still hasn’t said anything. It’s probably only been a few seconds but in the confines of my head it feels like hours.

I need to give her an out in case she doesn’t feel like she has one.

Stepping forward, I open my mouth to begin to call this whole thing off but Abby’s words surprise me yet again.

“I happen to be the undisputed, undefeated champion of Guess Who. National winner of the Guess Who championships. You guys have no idea what you’re getting into.”

Jasper steps toward her with that slow, sexy smile of his and a cocky expression. He holds his palm out, silently asking for the rope and bandana. She hands it to him wordlessly as they stare each other down like it’s high noon on the western frontier.

And of course Jasper has to up the ante.

“Wanna bet on it?”

CHAPTER 21

BOY SCOUTS ARE PROFESSIONAL ROPE TYER’S

ABBY

I’ve always considered myself to be a playful, easy-going person. I do need some structure in my life, a schedule to maintain some routine, but if it’s too strict or rigid, I burn out easily.

I’ll still commit myself to certain things, regretting it later when I feel like it zaps the joy out of whatever it is I was supposed to do.

In the brief time I’ve known these guys, I’ve noticed there’s a balance between them that they probably need in order to do the kind of work they do.

Major, being the militant one, keeping everyone on track but he probably forgets to have fun unless he’s forced into it. Jasper is a complete one-eighty from Major, who probably forgets his obligations when he’s having too much fun, and Wade is like a seesaw in between the two of them, going one way or the other depending on who convinces him on which direction to go.

I find myself in that predicament, as my eyes rebound back and forth between Jasper’s bright, playful eyes—a notch more feral than usual—and Major’s dark and serious gaze.

Major’s searing stare makes me feel safe and protected while Jasper’s pulls a curiosity and excitement from me that reminds me I enjoy that easy-going side of myself. The one I haven’t seen much of since my parents died.

Jasper’s confidence rivals that of Iron Man right now and I know, at this very moment, I am no match for this man or this game.
