“Fuck it.” I put on my boots and grabbed my coat. I needed some air, so I stepped out on the porch.
It was still early, but I knew Marcel was up, so I called him.
“What’s good?” he answered on the second ring.
“Man, I’m tired, and my fucking back hurts.” I ran my hand down my face.
I opted out of brushing the snow from the swing chair on the porch and just leaned against the railing.
“You been catching shit?”
“Hell nah. It’s a fucking snowstorm, so I’m stuck inside. Oh, but I’m not by myself.”
“Don’t tell me you brought Tammy’s ass with you.”
I looked at the phone because there was no way he asked me that dumb ass question, because he didn’t even like Tammy. Plus, Tammy and I didn’t do shit besides fuck, so I for sure wasn’t going to take her out of town.
“Come on now. The cabin was overbooked, and I’m stuck here with some chick.”
“Oh, word? What she look like?” I already knew he had a dumb ass smirk on his face.
I ran down everything I noticed about Tumy since she stepped out of the bathroom. She was fucking gorgeous. I had to shake my head at the thoughts that crept into my mind.
“Let me find out you got a crush.” Marcel laughed.
“I’m a grown-ass man; I don’t have crushes.” I didn’t know shit about Tumy, but I felt something when I looked at her. Having a crush sounded crazy, but maybe he was right. “Dawg, I pulled my piece out and had that shit in her face, and she brushed it off like it was nothing. Do you know how that shit made me feel?”
Marcel whistled. “Sounds like shorty won’t take any of your shit.” He laughed.
I thought about how Tammy would do anything I said. Even the chick before her was the same way. Then, before her, my last girlfriend, Tasha, was the same way until she tried to control my ass. She was cool at first, but when she started to change, I had to let her go.
I didn’t want anyone who was a pushover, but I also didn’t want anyone thinking they could control me either. I liked a good balance. Tumy seemed like the type that wanted to be in control at times, but I also could see her being submissive when she wanted to be. I could tell all of that about a woman within minutes of meeting them. I liked to call it a gift. I’d had my share of women, and I picked up certain clues about them. I could tell whoever Tumy dealt with wasn’t fucking her right, because of her smart-ass mouth.
“If she looks as good as you say, then make shit work. I know if I was stuck with a fine ass woman, I would be trying to fuck.”
Tumy didn’t seem like she was easy, but if the opportunity presented itself, I wouldn’t turn it down.
“I don’t think she fucking with me right now,” I told him. “But I could see there is an attraction there.”
“Make that shit work to your advantage then. So show her how charming you are. I know you ain’t scared.”
“Fuck out of here.”
We talked a little longer before I went back inside.
Major hadn’t triedto kill me in my sleep, so I guess we were on the right track. I still wasn’t sure how to feel about being stuck with him, even though he turned me on like nobody’s business. The thoughts I had of him the night before were shameful. He would probably look at me differently if he knew I pleasured myself to the vision of his face. Then again, he might enjoy the details. It might not be a bad thing. I shook my head and stared at the ceiling.
I heard Major moving around the cabin, even though he tried to be quiet. I wasn’t ready to face him, so I lay still, waiting for him to leave or something.
Sparrow jumped on the bed and got in my face. I knew I needed to get up to feed him, and if I didn’t move soon enough, he would meow loudly.
“Give me a moment, buddy.” I rubbed the top of his head.
Sparrow nudged me, but I didn’t move. It wasn’t until my bladder almost gave up on me that I finally got out of bed.
I grabbed the robe from the chair and slid my feet into my slippers. I stretched for a minute, then stood in front of the floor-length mirror against the wall.
I tied the robe tight around my waist, then made sure I looked presentable before leaving the room.
