“To Boston. I said soon, you agreed.”
Her eyes widen in surprise as she shakes her head.
“What about Carly?”
I shrug. “She took off on a girls trip with Danielle and I pushed my meeting to Monday. The jet is waiting for us.”
She blinks as I walk her towards my car.
“My car is here, my parents won’t accept me just disappearing without a trace.”
“Leave it here and tell them you’re spending the weekend with some friends.”
She pauses before arguing once more.
“What about clothes? A toothbrush?”
“Believe it or not, Boston has these state of the art places called stores,” I smirk as we get to the passenger’s side of the car.
“But—”
She starts as I pull her in for a kiss, instantly silencing her as I pull back and smile.
“Stop trying to come up with reasons why you can’t go, and get in the fucking car.”
Cassi looks up at me before a small smile crosses her face and she nods.
Opening the door for her, I let her slide in before shutting it, not able to wipe the excited smile off my face. An entire weekend with her, just the two of us in my city.
Chapter Twenty
Cassi
Holy shit. I can’t believe we are doing this. There are at least a hundred reasons shouting in my head of why this is wrong. Yet, here I am, casually strolling across the tarmac as I board a private jet. Yeah…a private jet. What kind of backwards twilight zone universe have I stepped into?
When I step inside, my mouth drops. Honestly, I feel my jaw hit the fucking floor because this isn’t a tiny little four person plane. No, this thing has twelve seats that look more like recliners than an airplane seat. The floors are a plush carpet without a single stain or strand out of place. My eyes move up to the ceiling where strategic lighting is placed in soft browns and light whites that make the entire thing feel…luxurious.
Slowly, my head turns to see Nico watching me with a knowing smirk. He knows he’s a rich son of a bitch. He knows that just stepping foot on one of these things for someone like me was so far out of my wildest imagination. And now we’re flying on it across the country? Just like that?
“Good evening. We are about ready to take off. Can I get eitherof you a pre-flight refreshment before we do?” a leggy stewardess with the whitest teeth I’ve ever seen asks.
“I’ll take an ice water, what about you, Cassi?”
“Uhm, an ice water would be great. Thank you,” I say.
Nico frowns as he looks down at me before looking back to her.
“Bring us a bottle of champagne when you have a moment too.”
She smiles happily and moves to the galley as she grabs out our glasses. Nico rests his hand onto my lower back as he begins guiding us deeper into the plane before stopping on a loveseat. He takes a seat before tugging me down with him, though I don’t fall into the seat. I land in his lap.
His arms are like tentacles, wrapping around me with ease as his face buries into my neck and inhales gently. Nervously, my eyes flick to the stewardess. I mean, I’d assume Nico uses her often, he doesn’t just have a horde of them, right? Which means she knows my sister and probably assumes I’m some sort of floozy on the side. Which…well, technically, aren’t I?
She doesn’t look at us, though. Not until she’s walking towards us and even then, she’s looking in our direction but not at us, if that makes sense.
“Thank you, Jackie,” Nico says, not even having to look at her to know she’s beside us as she sets down our drinks.
“My pleasure. The captain told me we will be taking off now. If possible, please fasten your seatbelts for takeoff.”
