Nancy Erickson burst out laughing.“He’s enjoying the peace and quiet of me not being there, silly.”
His mother got to her feet and embraced him.
“I was just going over a few details with Larissa on what kind of wedding she wanted.I’ve been talking to Jonah, and we’re thinking a wedding in July.The babies will have been born then.Also, it will be summer so we can invite a lot of the town.I think it would be a big event.”
Big Dick looked past his mother’s shoulder to see that was a terrible idea for Larissa.
“Mom, we can talk about this another time.Larissa looks a little tired,” he said.
His mother gasped and quickly turned toward his woman.“You’re right, you are looking tired.”Larissa didn’t say anything.“Silly me, I should have known.Don’t you worry about a thing, honey.We’ll talk more, and we have plenty of time to arrange everything.”
Nancy kissed Larissa’s head, and then turned to him, but he followed his mother to the door.He stayed there, watching as she got inside the car and then drove off.Once he was sure she was not going to turn around and attempt to come back, he closed the door and leaned against it for a second.Flicking the lock into place, he stepped into the sitting room to find Larissa closing up the massive ring binder of ideas.
“You hate my mother’s plan,” he said.
“It’s a fantastic plan.”
“There is abutcoming along.”
“No, not at all.I love it, and your mother is right, it will give us a lot of time to plan, and our twins will be born by then.”
Big Dick went to her and cupped her cheeks, forcing her to look at him.“Stop.This is not about what is good for my mom, or your dad.This is about what you want, Larissa.This is your wedding.”
“It’s our wedding.”
“And tell me, what do you want?”he asked.“There’s only me and you right now.Talk to me.”
“I, uh, I don’t want to have a big wedding, and I don’t want to have it in July.”
He nodded his head as he had a feeling that was what was bothering her.“When do you want it?”
“As soon as possible.I don’t care that I’m pregnant.If you want to marry me for real, then I want us to be married before our babies come.Does that scare you?”
“Not at all.I can make the arrangements and have us in Vegas by tonight.”
“What?”
“You heard me.You want to get married.We can do this now.”
“But, what about your mom and my dad, and everyone?”
“Screw them.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, seriously.We can have another event, or there can be something else we can do to celebrate.This is our wedding.Not theirs.”He stroked some of her hair back from her face.“And I will not sacrifice your happiness for anything.”
He knew his mother would be pissed.Jonah would probably be upset with him, but he could handle all of that, as long as Larissa was happy.That was all he cared about.
“Tell me, what do you want to do?”
She nibbled her lip, and he knew she was struggling with the decision.Big Dick was not going to make it for her.He wanted to be married to her and have the rest of his life with her.That was never in question for him.
“I want to ...I want to get married now,” she said.
