“What!”
“Well, I’m not interested.” She started for the door, but Edge strode in front of her, blocking her way.
“What the hell are you talking about?” He gripped her shoulders. “I haven’t been able to think of anything but having you again since we got out of bed this morning. I’ve wanted you all day, but—”
“But what? You backed off because you think I’m too fragile to handle it? I don’t want a man who holds back. That was one of the things that attracted me to you in the first place. Everything you do, you don’t hold back. You’re all in. That’s the way it was last night. That’s what I want from you—all or nothing. Let me know if you change your mind.”
She barely got the words out before Edge shoved her up against the wall and his mouth crushed down over hers. The kiss was scalding, deliciously wet, and deep. It was everything she wanted and not nearly enough.
“The way I want you . . .” He nipped the side of her neck. “I’m afraid of what will happen if I let go completely.”
Skye went up on her toes and kissed him. “I want you, Edge—all of you—and I’m not afraid.”
His eyes darkened to blue black pinpoints. He unbuttoned her blouse and dragged it off her shoulders, unfastened her bra and tossed it away. Big hands cupped her breasts, thumbed her nipples, tugged hard enough to give her a shot of pleasure/pain.
Skye moaned. Her hands trembled as she unbuckled his belt and worked down his zipper. She pulled his black T-shirt off over his head as she toed off her sneakers and Edge worked her stretch pants down over her hips.
Mouths fused together, they stripped off the rest of their clothes and stood naked in the sparkling lights of the city. Skye smoothed her hands over the solid muscles across Edge’s chest, down his flat belly.
God, she loved touching him. A sound escaped from her throat.
“You want everything?” he said, wrapping her legs around his waist. “I’m going to give you everything I’ve got and more.” And then he buried himself inside her, taking her hard against the wall.
She climaxed almost immediately. This was Edge. He was so beautiful, so totally male. He drove her up again, sparing nothing, pounding hard, taking what he wanted, sending her over the edge before allowing his own release. Then he held her tight against him as they both spiraled down.
Seconds ticked past. Little by little, their heartbeats slowed, and they drifted back to earth.
He cupped her jaw and softly kissed her. “Better?”
Skye gave him a drowsy smile. “Much.”
Edge shook his head. “Nope, still not good enough. Maybe I can improve with practice.”
Skye laughed. This was the Edge she wanted, the man who gave all he had.
Carrying her into the bedroom, he settled her on his big bed and came down on top of her. “Practice makes perfect,” he said and started kissing her all over again, trailing little love bites down the side of her neck.
Skye gave herself up to the melting sensations. Tomorrow she would worry about the consequences of her deepening feelings for Edge.
Tomorrow she would worry about Callie, figure out a way to locate Daniel Henson and Lila Ramirez. Tomorrow—not tonight.
CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
LILA SAT IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE BLACKSUV,WHILEDANIELrode in the front passenger seat next to Harley, who was driving. Dutch drove the second SUV, accompanied by Riley and Stella Beeker. The six of them were off to a location where Daniel planned to start a new drug operation.
Lila suppressed a shiver. The more she learned, the more danger she was in.
They had spent three days at the safe house, waiting for Daniel to get everything ready for the trip to wherever they were going. She had overheard bits and pieces of conversation, not enough to know their final destination.
Since that first night, she had been sleeping in Daniel’s bed, going along with his dominance-and-discipline sex games, trying to stay alive. It wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Daniel wasn’t that much of a man.
Still, she understood the risk of defying him, remembered Sarah and what had happened to her.
Lila vowed to stay strong, do whatever she had to in order to survive. Sooner or later, she would find a way to escape.
Lila knew Callie had made it out. The night Daniel had dismantled the compound, she had heard him talking. She knew Callie’s sister, Skye, and two other men had come to rescue her.
She was pretty sure Molly had also managed to escape.
