"Not bad. I received your piece, and I made the arrangement for the base, would you like to try it?"
"You bet!" I tell him, entering the room. After having sung it, I listen to it with him and take note of how to set it. His advice is precious.
"Does she know about it?"
I shake my head. "No, and she mustn't."
"She will be speechless."
"That's my goal," I say smiling, I greet him and go out. Nick and Val are the bodyguards assigned by Chris. If it weren't for them I would have some fans or the paparazzi always on me.
"We'll go home," I tell them and they nod.
Chapter13
Angel
"Will you follow him to every concert?" Jack asks me as I collect new contracts.
"I wouldn't be able to be with them and work at the same time. So tomorrow night I'll be there, I can't miss their first concert. And then I'll see. I have a lot of commitments already on the list and they have priority."
"Will you take a vacation?"
"I think so, after Matt's last concert I was thinking of going somewhere."
"Excellent thought. I saw that their tickets sell like hotcakes."
"It's crazy! In two days it's already sold out!"
"As always you have known how to bet on the winning horse."
I smile; I always knew I had a fantastic ear and intuition.
"I'm done, I have dinner waiting for me! Have a good evening, Jack."
"You too, sis."
I go home for a shower and change. When Chris sees me coming back he already knows where we are going, he doesn't ask me anymore. Ours is a routine, I sleep more at Matthew's than in my apartment, and I like it. Our story is light and full of passion, he doesn't force me to do anything and it's so natural. I often want to imagine what our life will be like. As we will be in a few months or a few years, but the fear of experiencing disappointment scares me. I fell in love with him and I'm giving my all to him, I just hope I don't get burned.
"Chris, can we stop by that shop?" I ask him pointing to the supermarket on the corner of the next street.
"Sure, do you need anything in particular?"
"Hmm, no but I'd like to buy some things for dinner."
"Okay," he says as he parked.
Entering the shop the scent of freshly baked bread teases my nostrils. I buy everything I need and maybe something more. Chris helps me with the bags and we head to Matt's house.
I don't have time to get out of the car that Matt's hands grab me, drawing me in a long kiss.
"Hmmmm ... I like this welcome!"
"And I like having you here! Welcome home, love."
Home. He is my home. I smile as Chris and Matt bring the groceries inside.
"You shouldn't have, baby."
