He gets in the car and so do I. Matt's scent lights up in the cockpit. I start the engine and fasten the seat belt. Despite the late hour the traffic is quite concentrated, I follow Chris and when we arrive in front of Matt's house, I breathe a sigh of relief.
I greet the guards opening the front door. There is silence and I go upstairs. I go to the studio and knock. The music stops and when Matt opens the door with his chest naked and sweaty I lose myself looking at those perfect muscles.
"Love," he says, taking me in his arms and kissing me, "How did you get here? I thought you were already sleeping."
"I brought your car back, along with your house keys," I told him. “I needed to see you."
"Thank God I had a second pair of keys in my secret spot," he says rubbing his neck, "otherwise I should have come to yours."
"Too bad you have them," I say giggling.
"I'm so happy to have you here," he whispers before kissing me.
Chapter12
Matthew
It's been two months since Angel entered my life. Two months of real life. We try to see each other as much as possible, but with the start of our interviews and her busy schedule, we spend very little time together.
July came quickly as the date of our first official concert here in LA makes me anxious.
I thought Gabriel had worked hard to advertise us so far but that's nothing compared to what SMD does for us.
We have done interviews almost everywhere, from the smallest to the most important radios, talk shows and TV shows. They talk about nothing but DarkHeaven.
We opened the first dates overseas and the tickets were sold out within two days.
When I enter SMD with a dozen roses, I see people looking at me.
I walk to Angel's office and knock. No one reply.
"Hi Mr. West, Angel is out of the office," Lilly, Angel's secretary, informs me.
"Oh, I didn't know."
"It was an emergency."
"Okay, do you know when she'll be back?"
I hear alternating voices coming from the corridor and the clicking of her shoes is unmistakable.
Angel walks into the office and freezes as soon as she sees me, Jack follows her along with Ryan, the SMD attorney.
"Hi. Why are you here?"
"I wanted to take you out to lunch," I say, kissing her as I give her the roses.
"I'm afraid it's impossible, but we can meet for dinner."
"Sure, see you later then."
"That is fine," she says as I kiss her, and I walk into the recording room. The piece I wrote is almost ready and I would like to hear how it turned out before making any more changes. This piece is important to me and if I can finish it before the last concert, it would be perfect.
In the recording room, I find William, sipping his coffee.
"Hey, Matt, how are you doing?"
"Good thanks, and you?"
