Epilogue

I’m nervous and excited. My hands feel sweaty, and I start to breathe hard.

I look at the woman reflected in the mirror. I see a happy, radiant woman.

The dress I chose with Ingrid is breathtaking: a princess wedding dress in embroidered tulle with a swan neckline.

The lace’s allure casts its spell in the dreamy wedding gown with a seductive keyhole opening on the front and back bodices. The tulle skirt features embroidery around the hem, creating a romantic effect as I walk.

*Relax and breathe* I hear whispering.

“I’m trying, but it’s complicated.”

“What is difficult, Preciosa?” asks Drew as he looks at me

The dark blue smocking he’s wearing looks perfect on him.

“Breathing,” I reply, taking some deep breaths.

“If you’ve second thought about it, we can run away together,” he says with a wink.

I burst out laughing, and all the pressure disappears. “It’s an inviting offer, but the man I love is waiting for me inside.”

“Then breathe deeply, Preciosa, it’s time to go,” he says, lowering the veil. “You’re breathtaking.”

When I arrive at the altar, Danny approaches to lift my veil and kiss my forehead.

“You look wonderful.”

I smile. He’s just as excited as I am.

During the mass, he holds my hand. I feel his impatience for the priest to arrive at the fateful question. It makes me smile.

“It’s not funny. I can’t focus, and I want to kiss you,” Danny whispers to me.

“I know, me too,” I reply.

At that, he draws me toward him and kisses me, unleashing the applause of the guests.

The priest watches the scene, amused.

“It looks like the newlyweds are in a hurry.” He winks at us, and we all laugh. “I’ll skip the boring parts...” he says and then pauses.

This pause is heartbreaking. Then the preacher nods, and finally, Danny starts:
